This will actually be a very simple unboxing of this release.  I'll only be putting up the photos and won't be writing any lengthy commentary.  This is not because I don't like this release.  I like it very much.  I like the Fate/Zero OST a lot and felt that it really added to the whole atmosphere and feel of the anime series.  However, I need to try and catch up with my unboxing releases because the next one I need to do is the Princess Principal OST and I won't have too much time to do it.  That's because the Kubikiri Cycle: Aoiro Savant to Zaregotozukai Sound Collection and the Kalafina 9+one at Tokyo International Forum Hall A BD will arrive sometime next week, if all goes as planned.

Also, this release isn't exactly new.  Most of the tracks have been released as bonus CDs on DVD / BD boxsets when the anime series was released years ago and I've heard them many times before. This new release collects all the tracks from those releases and adds studio versions of the live performances of some of these tracks, hence why we have members of FictionJunction credited in this release.  They were not participants in the original OST tracks but did perform them at the lives.  This is commonly the case when Kajiura Yuki performs her OST songs live.  The live versions of these renditions have been released previously, so what they did this time was to record these live versions in a studio and release them as part of a sort of bonus of sorts for this collection.

FictionJunction Club Live Best 20 2016 ~ goods unboxing

The FictionJunction Club Live was a live I would have loved to have gone to. Kajiura Yuki + FictionJunction vocalists + Kalafina + FBM all performing the Top 20 songs that were voted in by fans, sounds really awesome, yah? :)  Unfortunately, I cannot fly to Japan twice in a month. I can't afford that and I was already committed to going to my friend's wedding in Japan at the end of March.  Hence, best I could do was Yuki Kajiura Vol.13 in Osaka on the 27th March. And I am grateful that the gods of music at least made it possible for me to attend one live during my upcoming trip. :)

FictionJunction Club Live Best 20 2016 ~ goods (preview)

I got lucky. I have friends who went to this live. So at least I got some goods even though this was a live that was impossible for me to go to. :(

Someday I hope to go to one of these Best 20 lives.  But this is only the second time they've done this. I have no idea when they'll do it again.  I hope I get lucky with my schedule in the future.

Unfortunately, I was already committed to go to Kalafina's "far on the water" SP Final lives in Jan and more importantly, I have a very good friend's wedding to attend on 1st April in Okinawa.  This meant that I could never afford the leave or the cost of another trip to Japan, no matter how short I try and make it. :'(  This also means that the Kalafina Spring Strings live are also out of my reach. :'(

Kajiura Yuki ~ Sword Art Online Music Collection - unboxing

Huh....after I posted this very long post which included a bit about me moping about Keiko not at vol.13....the FJC sent out an email and it seems Keiko is not well. She's suffering from mild bronchitis and will take some time off to concentrate on her treatment.  It seems though that it shouldn't affect her apperances at the Kalafina lives.  Just that, I think that's why she won't be at the Yuki Kajiura vol.13 lives.
Ah.... at least I understand why she won't be there now.  It doesn't make me less disappointed.  But I really rather she take time off to heal.  GET WELL SOON KEIKO!!!!!! お大事に!!!

As a big Kajiura Yuki fan and someone who's a bit of a completist, I just had to also pick up this OST boxset simply because the music is composed by Kajiura Yuki.  To be completely honest, SAO isn't my favourite anime.  Actually, to be brutally honest, I don't even like the anime at all. :(  I couldn't even finish the first season even though I was maybe only three episodes away from the end. I only enjoyed the first arc and thought the second arc was horrible and only endured as much as I could just for Kajiura sensei's music.  Then I gave up and never even attempted Season 2 or Extra Edition etc. :(

FictionJunction Club ~ my first newsletter

Well, technically it's not in my hands yet because it's with my friend in Japan. :P  But I have finally sorted out my email and mail address problems and am now receiving FJC email and the newsletter.  I need to write to them later today to thank them for their help.  My Japanese is really not great yet, so I'm really glad that I managed to write to them and they understood me.  I hope I wasn't rude in anyway, although I'm sure I wrote very awkward nihongo. :P

So yeah, sorry for the tease.  You'll only see the envelope. I don't intend to put photos of the newsletter online even after I receive the physical copy from my friend.  It's an FJC exclusive which you get by entering the fan club so I don't feel it's right to post it all over the internet.  I just wanted to write this post because I'm SOOOOOOO happy that I got my first FJC newsletter.  After so many years of devotedly following Kajiura Yuki, FictionJunction and Kalafina, I made the decision to finally join the FJC this year in June and be counted as one of their official fans.  So I'm commemorating that decision and this moment with a blog post. :D

Yuki Kajiura vol.12 Live ~ goods - computer case

I'm still slowly chipping away at my backlog of planned posts from the Yuki Kajiura vol.12 lives. :)

This time, I'll be putting up a few detailed photos of the computer case.  I think I did tweet two photos of it on two separate occasions on twitter but I haven't put any on the blog yet.  So it's time to rectify that. :)

I kinda like that bag charm. :P  If I were going to the Orchard Specials, I might have gotten the charm and the black t-shirt even though I have a TON of black tees. :P

Yeah, I didn't manage to update the blog last night like I hoped.  I watched the live action adaptation of Assassination Classroom last night and came back too late to blog.  The film was a lot better than we expected and my friends and I enjoyed it a lot. I guess I'll try out the anime next. :)

What I did do was take some frozen yoghurt from the fridge and use the Yuki Kajiura Live vol.12 ice cream spoon for the first time since I opened them to do the unboxing photos. :P

I guess this will be my ice-cream / yoghurt eating spoon from now on.  :)

Tonight, I'll probably be home late again.  Not sure if I'll have the energy to blog.  I'm suppose to watch Chen Kaige's Monk Comes Down the Mountain tonight. Hope it's good!!

Okay, this will be the final post for tonight because I really don't want to sleep too late.  Need to catch up on more rest from the strain of the last two weeks at work and also because tomorrow, I have a full day out.  I'm not sure if I will be able to blog tomorrow night.  I hope so but for now, please enjoy this final post for the day. :)

Yes.... I can now finally stand up and be counted as one of the proud members of the FictionJunction Club!!!!! :)  I'm really happy and excited about it for some silly reason. :P

The truth is, I have hesitated long and hard over this membership.  I don't actually need it because the biggest advantage this membership gives me is the member pre-general-sales lottery for the lives and my Japanese friend, who is also a fan and who is in the FJC, already helps me with the tickets.  Even with this membership, I will probably still approach her for help because it's very inconvenient and impossible to handle the ticketing thing outside of Japan if you do not have a friend or if you do not use a proxy to help you.

Yuki Kajiura vol.12 Live ~ goods - wooden spoon

Back to blogging again, finally. :P  I was on holiday in Hokkaido after the series of six Yuki Kajiura vol.12 Live concerts in Tokyo and because access to Wifi was spotty or non-existent, I decided not to blog.

We didn't really do that much in Hokkaido.  Mostly ate a lot and went to a few places, maybe when I have time, I'll do those posts after I do a series of Kajura Yuki related posts.  There will be quite a few of them and I decided to rush one out before work this morning because I wanted to kickstart it ASAP before I get too busy and lazy. :P

So first up, the wooden spoons. I think I have put up photos of the spoons on twitter and on some of the earlier concert posts while I was in Japan.  But this is the one which will have the more detailed photos.

While I did set up a small table-top studio in part to aid in shooting the unboxing posts that I like to do, I did forget about color temperature.  So the lights in those lamps I use to light up the objects is too warm and most of the photos have a yellowish tinge, sometimes even if I use auto white balance on the camera in my phone, it still doesn't color correct properly. :(  As I don't really have the time to post process all the time, like in this instance, please do bear that in mind.

Yuki Kajiura vol.12 Lives ~ Day 1 - 5

Ahhhhhh.... it is so nice to have a WiFi and a proper connection to the internet again.  Soon after the final Yuki Kajiura vol.12 live at the Tokyo International Forum on Sunday night, I had to dash off to meet some friends for dinner and then leave with two of my friends to Hokkaido where we travelled around for a bit.  My connection was pretty unstable then on the prepaid mobile data SIM that I was using and we didn't have any free WiFi at the places we were staying at till now.

It's been several days since that live and I am still incredible happy that I managed to attend all 6 lives.  I won't attempt to say much about the Japanese Sealed live on Day 5. I'm sure lots of people have talked about it already and I really can't say much except that despite some minor hiccups, it was once again a very amazing live for me.

Yuki Kajiura Live Vol.12 ~ Day 4 - Japanese Only Special - comments

The gods must really have been smiling on me when they allocated seats for the Vol.12 lives. :)  I managed to score 1st Floor, 2nd Row on the far right favouring Kaori and Keiko.  OMG, Keiko!! :P  My favourite vocalist in the YK family.  Actually, I like Kaori a lot too, she and Wakana take turns to be my 2nd favourite.  Although I have my favourites, I really do love all of them. I would not want any of the members to be different at all.

Part of this live's awesomeness for me was that they were really, really, really close.  I could see all their expressions.  The musicians, sadly though, were a little obscured from me at times because we were quite close and they were further back on stage.  And also, we were far-right, pretty much at the end of the row so it was hard to see Sato Kyoichi and Takashi “Jr” Tomoharu at times.  Luckily my soundtrack day, row 6 ticket was favouring them and Kajiura Yuki so I got a really clear look at them on Day 3.

Ah... apparently Flying Dog made two announces today, I only just realised it.  They didn't just release the cover art for the jacket for Kajiura Yuki's soon to be released FictionJunction 2010-2013 The BEST of Yuki Kajiura LIVE 2, they also updated the track-list.

Previously, they only released the titles of the songs that would be included in this 3 CD set but now they've also added information about which lives these tracks are from.

This is the updated track list.  For those of us who couldn't go to KajiFes and were hugely disappointed at the lack of a BD release... well... we've got Disc 3 where all 18 tracks are from KajiFes. :)

Yuki Kajiura Live vol.#12 ~ two additional days added in Tokyo

I just work up from a nap after dinner. :P  Seriously tired out but am a little too awake now.  Not the best thing to do... napping after dinner. :)

Anyway... I just saw this on the FictionJunction Club fan site.  It looks like Kajiura Yuki's lives sold well because they're adding an additional two nights to vol.12 in Tokyo.

OH YEAH!!!! New CD announce from Kajiura Yuki !! :)

She'll be releasing 「FictionJunction 2010-2013 The BEST of Yuki Kajiura LIVE 2」 with tracks from various lives recorded between 2010-2013. Awesome news for us fans. :)

It'll consist of 3 CDs and is set for a 3rd of June release, just before her series of lives in Tokyo and Osaka. :)

This release has a "2" at the end because this isn't the first time that Kajiura Yuki has released a collection of tracks from her lives.  In 2010, she released a 2 Disc album titled FictionJunction 2008-2010 The BEST of Yuki Kajiura LIVE which I bought way back then but I think I wasn't doing un-boxings then so I don't have an un-boxing post of the release.  This time though... I will. :)

Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.11 elemental Tour 2014 ~ FictionJunction DVD tokuten pictures

You probably can tell that I've been kind of busy lately.  This will probably continue for a while. :(

But I thought I'll post this up anyway since it's really short. :)

My friend in Japan has received the FictionJunction DVD tokuten that I asked her to help me mail away for. :)  It was a little troublesome and we had to deal with some hiccups but in the end it all worked out well.

I asked her if she'll kindly shoot a photo of it and she shot three.  Obviously, I haven't seen it since it's still in Japan.  I also didn't want to trouble her, so there are no photos of the DVD itself.  I won't be able to pick this up from her till February next year  :(  For now, I will have to be content with three photos of it, one of which is actually a photo of the envelope it came in. :P

And while I'm still waiting for Fate/stay night [UBW] to start... I found this tweet from Yuriko Kaida who has a solo career and also sings for FictionJunction.  I've no idea what this occasion is but I think it's probably a celebration dinner for the recently concluded Kalafina lives.  About 20 mins ago, Yuriko Kaida tweeted a nice picture of  herself and Keiko. :)
