#ColdplaySingapore ~ so high, so high!
The Coldplay concert in Singapore on 1st April 2017 was EPIC!!!!! It's truly one of the best lives I have ever been to. I enjoyed it immensely!!!
It felt like the first time I walked out of a Kalafina live and the first time I walked out of a Yuki Kajiura live. I was deliriously drunk with happiness. I became an addict. Once was not enough. I wanted more and needed more.

#Kalafina ~ meeting Kalafina in Singapore !!!
![]() |
| source: Kalafina LINE blog |
(I'm in there but I'm not telling you which one. :P )
This has got to be one of the most memorable moments in my life. :) It probably rivals the first time I met them at Anime Festival Asia in Singapore when they signed the poster in front of me. And the time I met them at AFA Malaysia twice, once when they handed me the autographed poster and once when they signed the CD.
Maybe this moment even surpasses all those moments, hahaha!!! Having a photo taken with Kalafina, a vocal unit that I've been a HUGE fan of since 2009, is like a dream come true for any fan. I never expected that my impulsive decision to see them live in Japan in Dec 2010 would lead me down this path. Hahaha.... I loved the "Kagayaku Sora no Shijima niwa" live at the then Lemon CC Hall. I loved it so much that I became a confirmed fan and have not looked back since. :P

screen cap: Kalafina Arena Live 2017 BD Soon fans in Singapore can see Kalafina live too!! :) |
Hello! Kalafina fans from Singapore. Please do contact me if you can. :)
I was suppose to do this at the beginning of the week, Sunday night to be precise, but a lot of things conspired to make it hard for me to write a blog post about it. I did write a tweet and FB about it though. :P
Well, the Anisong Fantasy Live is going to happen this Saturday and a couple of us are thinking of doing something. So if you wish to get involved, you still can. Please do contact me either on Twitter, on FB or comment below.
I will get back to you ASAP.

#Kalafina in Singapore 2017 - Anisong Fantasy Live
#Kalafina will be back in Singapore in March 2017!!! Well, according to one of my friends who attended the I Love Anisong lives at Anime Festival Asia tonight, they just announced the lineup for the Anisong Fantasy lives.

The AFA FB page posted a tease about it on the 18th Nov but I paid very little attention to it. To be honest, I've been pretty bored of the I Love Anisong lives and AFA in general because my taste is generally not very mainstream and I don't like idol style music very much. And since it seemed like there was no signs of Kalafina returning to our sunny shores, I kind of stopped caring about AFA and their related events.
SOOOOOOOOOO..... when my friend texted me and said that they announced that Kalafina will return to SG for the Anisong Fantasy live.... I was SUPER HAPPY!!!!

NOISEMAKER ~ A-Sketch Showcase- live in Singapore, Millian soft opening
Last night, I went with a couple of friends to the opening of a new live house + nightclub called Millian in Singapore. We were there partly to check out the place and to check out this Japanese band called NOISEMAKER.
The band was brought in to perform at the soft opening of Millian. And it was a free live so we thought, we'll check it out since we like Japanese music, we like lives and from what we could tell from the music videos on YouTube, they seem interesting.
Millian is located at St. James Power Station. Now if, you have never been to St. James Power Station, it might be a little tricky finding the place. We got a little lost, not terribly, but there's no signage once you get to the building, so instructions would be useful. So I'll give some simple instructions here, should any of you ever need to find Millian, you will be able to.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu ~ 5th Anniversary World Tour - Singapore
Maybe about 2 weeks ago, KPP said during an interview that Singapore will be one of the stops during her 5th Anniversary World Tour. And now the details have been released.
Her live will be held on the 13th May (Friday) 8pm at the Esplanade Theatre. Wow!! That's a nice location. The ticket prices are also very decent and cheaper than her previous concerts in Singapore too.
She's coming as part of a larger festival called the Super Japan - Japanese Festival of Arts 2016. Here's the link to information on the rest of the acts in the festival. CLICK ME.
I'm going to try and go with my friends. While I do listen to electronic music and bubblegum pop, they aren't not my favourite genre. But I don't mind KPP. Her lives are quite fun and I have several friends who like her so it's fun to go together. :)

Oh!!! I almost forgot to talk about this.
Japanese music fans in Singapore should really take note of this event. Amuse is a Japanese entertainment company that manages various artistes. They manage several artistes that have thrown lives in Singapore before and I quite like them because they are one of the few Japanese entertainment companies that actually seem interested in marketing to the South East Asian market. THANK YOU!!!

Singapore Night Festival 2015
Last night I went to the Singapore Night Festival and it was really fun. This isn't my first time at the eight year old festival. I went last year too which was also very cool. I usually don't like crowds and I will only go join one at events which I really, really, really want to attend like concerts, anime festivals etc.
So last year, I finally went to the festival and it was really cool. Best part about it was that it's all free which is even cooler. LOL. :P
Anyway, I need to try and do some homework before class. I'll just do a short write up, post up a few photos and an animated gif I made. I partly want to test out how animated gif works in blogger too. :P
This is the animated gif I made. It's the first one I've ever made too, so it's nothing fancy. Just something I threw together from a couple of photos. This is the light projection display on the National History Museum, This is Anooki Celebrate Singapore. I didn't shoot video so there isn't any sound. The music and the audio is really cute too. I totally loved it. :)
Oh... looks like it's working quite well. So... all one has to do is upload an animated gif directly to blogger and it'll just work. Okay lah... I'm quite swaku about these things. :P

Psycho Pass movie to screen in Singapore in June 2015
I'm going to be very brief because I need to scoot off to work very soon.
But just when I wondered whether they were really ever going to screen the Psycho Pass movie in SG, here's a tease from Aniplus HD's FB stating that they intend to screen it in June in SG only.
Arrrrrgggghhhh... I'm away in Japan for two weeks in June.... please, please please, please still have it be screening in Singapore when I get home!!!!

Rie Fu ~ Growing Singapore: Construction Site Paintings & Acoustic Live
Two days ago, I finally managed to watch Rie Fu live in Singapore. :) The Japanese singer songwriter moved to Singapore about a year ago and is currently based here for now. During this time, I knew that she sang and held a workshop at Hood Bar & Cafe and also at J-Obsessions at Cathay but both events were on a Sunday afternoon which made it hard for me to attend because it clashed with my classes. This time, this event was held on a Saturday afternoon so I grabbed at the chance to go.
Admittedly, outside of Rie Fu's anime related music, I didn't really know that much about her music at all. And I didn't even know she painted till the Japan Creative Centre put up an art exhibition showcasing her paintings which were very cool.
The event was held at the Japan Creative Centre on Nasim Road and Rie Fu performed on the opening and closing day of her art exhibition. The cool thing about it is that it's a free live, you just had to write in to apply for a "ticket" to get in. I applied for the closing day because it was on a Saturday and hence, made it much easy for me to attend.

Stefanie Sun Yanzi ~ "Radio" single - un-boxing
I was waiting for Niconico to begin streaming Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] last night because I wanted to participate in Fate/tweet night and listen to Kalafina's ring your bell (in the silence) as soon as possible. So I stopped writing this post and switched to FSN last night and after watching the very engrossing EP15 and listening to Kalafina's song, I just had to write a post about it. :P
So now.... here it is finally, after sitting in draft waiting for me to complete it....My Stefanie Sun Yanzi Radio single un-boxing post. :)
One of the things I like about how they market Stefanie Sun is that a lot of her MVs, if not all of them, are not region locked unlike Kalafina's :'(

The Piano Guys live in Singapore 2015
Okay, I think I can keep this one relatively short because I don't have much to say except that I really enjoyed this live too. I like The Piano Guys and also saw them live when they first came to Singapore... two years ago... I think. :)
We were more broke than previously so we agreed to get a cheaper ticket. Two years ago, we were on the first floor and I think only one section behind the top tier? Maybe... I no longer remember except that they were good seats. This time we opted to get cheaper tickets but it turned out to be decent so it wasn't bad at all.

Liang Wenfu Concert in Singapore 10th April 2015
It's been kind of a tiring week for me. Although it hasn't been terribly busy at work, I've been feeling kind of tired after I get home, hence the lack of blog posts. But there are really a ton of things that I want to get through and most of them aren't related to Kajiura Yuki, FictionJunction and Kalafina. Yup, I do talk about other things aside from them. :P
I'll attempt to keep most of them as succinct as I possibly can since I didn't keep detailed notes or write down my thoughts about some of the events. But as I have a tendency to be quite verbose, I will most likely fail.... but I'll still try. :P I still want to write these posts because this blog serves as a little bit of a diary of events for me too and I would like to remember some of these events. :)

Eir Aoi one man live in Singapore !!
Ohhhhhhh... look what a friend alerted me to.... Eir Aoi posted this on her FB page.
She announced the schedule of her first world tour earlier today and there is a date set in Singapore in October. She's not yet revealed the date of the live yet but I'm likely to go in support of Japanese music lives in Singapore IF it doesn't clash with Kalafina's lives in Tokyo in October. I'm hoping to get tickets to Kalafina lives. Wish me luck!!
Eir Aoi sings anisong and I desperately want Kalafina to come to Singapore one day for a one man live too. So in support of anisong and also because I want to do something in my own small way to convince the Japanese companies that there is a market for Japanese lives and anisong lives in Singapore, I will go for Eir Aoi's live in SG. :)
Hey! My First World Tour is announced !!I’m excited for seeing you ♪Eir Aoi World Tour 2015 "ROCK THE WORLD!"★July...

AAA Asia Tour 2015 - Attack All Around - in Singapore ~ my experience :)
Wow!!!!!!! This was a really fun live. I was really jumping and dancing a lot. I didn't expect it to be so fun, to be honest. I like AAA which is why when I heard that they were coming to Singapore, I was very excited and decided that I would go for the live. I wanted VIP tickets but the friends I was with wanted to get Standard tix so that is what I got in the end.

Lantis Festival ~ Singapore 2015
I actually wanted to write a short post about the Lantis Festival live that I went to on 28th March, last Saturday. But it was still within the seven days of mourning for Mr. Lee Kuan Yew and I wanted the blog to observe those seven days of mourning too. I originally wanted to write an entire post on Sunday night, after his funeral procession but I spent most of the night watching and reading all the eulogies and different personal stories about him that I gave up on that idea. Anyway, a lot of people wrote really good eulogies and tributes and I could not possibly write anything better so I decided just to read.
I want to say from the outset that it was very kind and sensitive of Lantis to also observe one minute of silence for Mr. Lee Yuan Yew right before they began the concert on Saturday night. I don't know about the others in that hall but I thought it was very nice of them to do that.

Rest in Peace Mr. Lee Kuan Yew

Today I am sad. The first Prime Minister of Singapore has passed away and I am sad.
To me he was a great man who gathered the best people for the job and gave Singaporeans a safe haven to live, work and play. Without him, Singapore would not be the Singapore we live in today. He was not a perfect man and never claimed to be one. He was sometimes controversial and unconventional but his steely determination and strong beliefs was what Singapore needed in more troubled times. Under his guidance and his leadership, Singapore has gone from a messy British colony to one of the most prosperous countries in the world. I know my family and I can live the life we live because he did what he had to do.
Thank you Mr. Lee Kuan Yew for all that you have done for this little red dot. Thank you for all the hard decisions, the unpopular but necessary ones too, and for devoting your entire life to the betterment of this nation.
Rest in peace Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. Today, I mourn with the rest of my fellow countrymen at the lost of one of the most important men in the history of our young nation.
