Japan Trip 2015 Oct ~ Day 1.2

I'm about to fall asleep in my hotel room now. :)

I was thinking I might tweet or mobile blog more today but I had some trouble getting a mobile SIM card and then had trouble getting it to work. By the time that was done it was time to meet my friend for dinner.

I ate at one of my favourite places to eat burgers in Tokyo, although I went for the steak today. :)

Japan Trip 2015 Oct ~ Day 1.1

I am waiting for my flight to Tokyo right now. So glad for a short break from work. :)

This time it's only going to be a short trip. It is pretty much just a concert run to catch the opening two lives for Kalafina's "far on the water" lives. :)

Okay....gonna chill for a bit...it is too early in the morning. :)

Japan Trip ~ June 2015 - Day 3.1

Today is the first day of Yuki Kajiura Live vol.12.  I haven't decided what to buy yet at the live. But I did burn a little money buying used games in Book Off yesterday. :P

But while I ponder and wait for the goods queue to open, I have breakfast first. Today I tried McDonald's new muffin. The vegetable chicken muffin. It isn't half bad but I am generally not that fussy. So...Hahaha...not much of a food review. But I have photos. :) I will only upload one because I am mobile blogging. :)

Since I am not staying at a hotel till Saturday, updating the blog has been tricky because my mobile data SIM has trouble uploading photos to blogspot. So I will try and update here and there but maybe I will only really be able to write more only from Saturday night onwards. Maybe I will tweet more...we'll see. :)

Table top photo studio test shot

Aside from being quite busy at work, I have been having some fun trying to build my own tabletop studio for as cheap as I can possibly make it.

This is one of the test shots. :) It is a photo of the small daruma figure that Asahi san had kindly given me when I visited his factory in Gunma.

I think me trying to get that post done before the Kalafina ring your bell CDs arrive is going to be impossible. :( According to FedEx, I will most likely get the package containing the CDs and the magazines by tomorrow afternoon.

Meanwhile, I am still on the train on my way home from work as I write this post to kill some time and take my mind off how cold it is on this train. By the time I get home, I think I will probably just crash out. Pretty tired today.

Actually, I also shot the Ieiri Leo CD unboxing photos using the new set up and it works pretty well. But I didn't have time to write that post.

Hopefully, I will have time to do the Kalafina unboxing post tomorrow night if the package arrives as scheduled. Looking forward to getting the singles and a couple of magazines.

Now I think I will play some Poke Toru on the 3DS....or maybe doze a little on the train if I get a seat on my connecting train.

Anime Festival Asia 2014

OMG .... I am beyond tired. Now on the train heading home..... So tired but so happy. This has been one of the best AFAs for me ever and the only reason why it isn't perfect is that Kajiura Yuki, FictionJunction and Kalafina didn't come this year. :p

For me though, it was two autograph sessions with angela, the Titan gear try-out, the Aniplus HD Psycho Pass booth, the Niconico Kunikaigi area....and of course, the Anisong Lives!!!!!!!!!

angela was reallllllllly awesome on Day 1. Super super super high that night. They sang so many good songs like, Shangri-la, boku ja nai, asu e no brilliant road etc and the awesome Sidonia of course. People were so pumped up and singing along etc....really awesome!! I still hope that one day they will sing End of the World live. It really is still my favourite angela song.

The one thing I really like about the way ufotable has been pushing Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] is how they have been using twitter. I have taken part in all the Fate/tweet night events so far but haven't been lucky enough to get a DM with an illustration attached yet. Fingers crossed that I will be able to get one by the end of the series. The other thing that ufotable does which is cool is that they really do post quite a few updates with different screenshots throughout the week. Kind of cool and helps yo drum up excitement. I am out now....hope that I can get back in time to watch the niconico stream tonight. :)
And yes, I am writing this because I am bored. :p
Hopefully we can leave soon. :p

I have finally had time to watch the video. Sounds like lots of Wakana in the clip. Although I can't say it's a something innovative and different from Kajiura Yuki, I can say though that I like it. Somehow, it just sounds comfortable to my ears.  Really looking forward to listening to a longer version or a TV version of this song and of course, getting my hands on the CD when it's released. :)

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Nanda Collection World Tour 2014 ~ Singapore

Oh wow!!! What a fun live!! I feel like I had a two hour work out last night. :p

Last night six other friends and I attended KPP's live in Singapore. This is her second live here and her third time in Singapore. I also went to last year's live and wore my KPP 2013 T-shirt to last night's live.



Haha...selfie... So it is a mirror image and the words are flipped. :p

I wasn't sure if I was going to buy the t-shirts last night but I did in the end. Here are photos of the 2014 world tour shirt. I got black in the end because I like black t-shirts. :)





This time Singapore is also printed on the shirt. It wasn't on last year's shirt.

Too bad there wasn't more merchandise. One of my friends wanted to buy the towel but they only had t-shirts yesterday.

I lent my new 2014 shirt to one of my friends who didn't have a KPP shirt and was feeling too broke to buy one. So with her in a KPP shirt too, we were now, all seven of us, in a KPP shirt. Yay!! All ready for an awesome time!!

I was hesitant to buy the KPP CDs yesterday before the live even though the first 300 sold comes with a handshake session with KPP. I just finished making orders for all the Kajiura Yuki, Kalafina and Ieiri Leo CDs and BDs so was feeling like I should be more careful with how I spent my money since I had already purchased the KPP concert T-shirt. So I resisted.



Instead, while one of my friends went to buy the CD, the rest of us spent time taking photos with KPP.



Hahaha...sadly, not KPP herself, instead we snapped shots with her standee. :)

Finally, it was time for the live and we slowly started to stream into the hall. This year the live was held at The Star at Star Vista instead of Scape and there were numbered seats. The Star is a nice and big auditorium and the acoustics are so much nicer than Scape. However, Scape has a live house feel and can be quite fun because of that. So I was a little worried we may not have as much fun in a proper sit-down auditorium. We got very, very, very good seats to this KPP live though. Second row, dead centre...it was sooooo awesome!! I definitely enjoyed this year's live more than last year. While live house is fun, it can get really cram when people push forward and even if you got a good spot some guy could cut in and all you can see is his back. :( No danger of that at all at The Star. I like The Star, it is nice and comfortable, the air ventilation is better and the acoustics are much nicer. Also, the hall is slopped so people at the back can get a better look at the stage.

KPP's stage was really bright and colourful.



We didn't know we were not even allowed to take photos of an empty stage before the live. I did take one photo of the stage before we were told we couldn't take ANY photos at all, so I put away my phone for good. See how close we were to the stage though. :)

After that at a little bit past 7pm...the live began. KPP looked so pretty and cute in all her outfits. I like her neon lights dress best. She sang her new yet to be released song last night too. I think it is called "Kira Kira". She also sang her really famous songs like Pon Pon Pon, Fashion Monster, Invader etc. She is so energetic and her backup dancers and her danced non-stop and we tried to keep up. I sucked at following the dance moves so I ended up just punching the air and jumping a lot.

I think one of the crowd favourites was Tsukema Tsukeru (I think that is the title of that son). Everyone around me was doing the dance moves and jumping. If the concert started energetically, it really ended on a crazy high that had the crowd yelling " encore encore" non-stop for quite sometime before she came out again. By the time she sang and we sang and danced along to Chan Chaka Chan Chan I had become a KPP fan!! Yes Kyary!!! See you again!!! :)

After the live my friend Cookie and I were so high that we went and bought KPP's CDs so that we could attend her handshake session.



I wanted to tell her that I enjoyed the live and thank her for it. I managed to spit out "楽しかった、ありがとう！" in the short amount of time we had as she shook our hands. :)

So fun!!! KPP!! Thank you for coming to Singapore, thank you for such a fun live!! And hopefully we will "see you again" in Singapore!! :)

I may go for this in September... I think it is the 27th. I am mobile blogging now so it isn't that convenient for me to check. But that should be correct

I really wish Kalafina and Kajiura Yuki / FictionJunction would come for one man lives too. But so far no luck. South East Asia is finally seeing more and more love from the Japanese bands, musicians, vocal units, anisong artists etc because lots more of them are coming for one man lives and not just in festivals. But I am still waiting for my favourites to come. Hopefully...someday my dream will come true. :)

Japan Night in Music Matters 2014 was fun!!!

I am on my way home after watching 3 bands at a free live at Clarke Quay today. SO FUN!! I was dancing and punching the air the whole night even though I knew very little about these bands.

I also attended last year's live but I knew flumpool by then and had gone to the live for flumpool and it was fun too. SID was great too and I was happy that I heard them live last year too. Because I had such a good time last year I decided that I had to go down to Clarke Quay for this year's live and I don't regret it.

Cream opened the night and although I don't usually like hip hop... I really enjoyed their live and really liked their song Shooting Star and Wonderland.



Next up was The Oral Cigarettes which suits my music taste the best of all three acts tonight. Although I don't know the title of the songs just yet, i know i will be googling about them tonight. Awesome stuff! I was really jumping and singing and pumping the air.



Last one up for the night was Naoto Inti Raymi. I have no idea what genre of music his music belongs to but it is fun singable stuff. He really got the crowd going at times. And his World Cup song was very fun and everyone around me was singing etc

Fun fun fun!! More Japan Night in Music Matters please!! :)

Kalafina announces release of first ever best-of albums

Kalafina has been around long enough and has released enough awesome songs to merit the release of their first best-of albums. :)

There will be two cd releases. They will be called THE BEST "Red" and THE BEST "Blue". Maybe the red cd will be for rockier songs and the blue cd will be for their more ethereal ballads... I don't know... I am just guessing :)

These albums will be released on the 16th of July. Kalafina will also be changing the look of their website at noon tomorrow. The site will also be streaming a special limited time movie from tomorrow.

Madoka Magica omiyage :)

The same friend who helped me buy that really cool transparent Madoka Magica poster also bought me a box of omiyage. :)

I don't think I can get to the unboxing of the Madoka Magica BD LE set tonight so I thought I would just do a short mobile blog post on this box of cookies. :) It was a post I that I wanted to do earlier but never got around to. :)







I quite like these cookies... they taste like green tea flavoured polvoron. Tasty. :)

I kept the box of course. :p

Madoka Magica Blu-ray Limited Edition arrived!!

Finally!!!! This finally arrived in the mail today at work. I cannot wait to open it and take photos etc.

I don't know if I can do it tonight because I won't be home till quite late and I am working and out late again tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to get to this by Saturday night. :)

Madoka Magica Anifone

My colleague brought this back for me from Anime Japan. :) Free Madoka Magica stickers. They were handing them out for free to advertise the Madoka Magica android app for cel phones.

I actually did get one of the apps. The app is really just a customize launcher. I got Akemi Homura. :) If you're a big fan of the series, you may find it kinda cool. I know I like it a lot. But it does take up quite a bit of ram and seems to drain my battery faster cuz Kyubey is constantly animated.

Still... it is kinda cool to see Kyubey and Homura on my phone.

The accompanying game is pretty simple and is pretty much a game of chance rather than skill. But it is kinda neat to be able to battle witches.

IMO this is pretty much strictly for fans but if you are a big fan...you might like it a lot...like I do. :)

Kalafina ~ live in Hong Kong

Kalafina announced today that they will be performing live in Hong Kong on the 31st May.
No Singapore again. :(
Lucky HK fans... this is Kalafina's 2nd or 3rd one-man live...
Sigh... no money to go. :(

The World of Miyazaki ~ GV to screen Ghibli films in SG!!

This is incredible news. Two of my friends texted me separately to let me know that Golden Village will be holding a mini Studio Ghibli film festival. They will be screening a host of Miyazaki's most loved works in March. This will then lead up to the opening of Kaze Tachinu on the 20th Mar.

I am on the train. After i reach home and have had dinner i will amend this post with links and a better screen cap.
