Ieiri Leo ~ Kimi ga Kureta Natsu - unboxing

It's no secret that aside from being a huge Kajiura Yuki, FictionJunction and Kalafina fan, I also really like Ieiri Leo, angela and Suiyoubi no Campanella.  I've fallen behind on my Ieiri unboxings and sadly, I'm not even keeping up with my Kajiura Yuki / FictionJunction and Kalafina unboxings. :(  And I would also like to do one for Suiyoubi no Campenella.  But not enough time!!!  時間が足りないよ!:(

So since this is the latest thing that I've received in the mail, I've decided that I'll do it first even though I have yet to do Kajiura Yuki's FictionJunction 2010-2013 The BEST of Yuki Kajiura LIVE 2 and also Kalafina's Budokan lives BDs, Suiyoubi no Campanella's latest album and Ieiri Leo's 20 album and the miss you single.  That's a lot. :(  And Kalafina's newest album far on the water will be released in the middle of this month.... I better chop chop and get as many of these things out of the way as possible... provided work isn't too crazy.

Anyway... enough of that... back to the main reason why I started writing this post. :P

Yes, this is the unboxing post for two editions of the Ieiri Leo's latest single Kimi ga Kureta Natsu.

I picked up these two versions:
Kimi ga Kureta Natsu [w/ DVD, Limited Edition]
Kimi ga Kureta Natsu [w/ Goods, Limited Edition]

In a previous post a while back, I explained that Kimi ga Kureta Natsu [w/ Goods, Limited Edition] is really just the Regular Edition but packaged with a limited edition goods.

First... photos.

As usual, I have provided photos of the CD with the shrink wrap on and off.  There is an insert leaflet in there on how to apply for a commemorative live but most international fans won't be able to go anyway and I certainly can't so I didn't really pay a lot of attention to it.

Next up photos for...

CDJapan called the special goods a knapsack but it's more like a drawstring bag. LOL.

The tracklist for both the LEs and the RE is exactly the same except that one LE comes with a special good and one comes with the DVD.

This single seems to be doing quite well on the charts, especially some of the overseas digital download charts.  To be honest, I kind of wish her other singles did better because I actually think that Kimi ga Kureta Natsu isn't her best song.  It's a little too reminiscence of her previous work and while I do enjoy the song, it's not going to end up being a particularly memorable Ieiri song for me. :(

Oh... in case some of you haven't heard the song yet, this is the short version of the PV that was released on her official youtube channel.

AND YES, I'm still looking at you SMEJ with total annoyance that Kalafina's official youtube channel isn't available worldwide. :(

The song that I find more interesting on this single is one of the coupling songs which shows Ieiri continue to try out other styles and genres.  This is one of the reasons why I like Ieiri, she does try out different things.  Unfortunately, Shooter isn't really my kind of song and I think I still prefer her more garage rock sound or her pop folk sound from her previous releases.  I don't know.... Shooter sounds a little motown to me... hahahaha... I don't know why but it does :P   The second coupling song is a cover of Carole King's I Feel the Earth Move.  She does a good job with it but I can't completely love her rendition because I really, really like Carole King's version of this song.

The DVD that comes with the Limited Edition of this release is a BIG WIN for me of course.  There is the MV and the making of the MV but that's not the reason why I am happy with the DVD.  I'm happy with it because they very wisely put in 30 mins of Ieiri's live at Hibiya Open Air Concert Hall.  I really do think that one of her greatest strengths is her performance at the lives.  I love these live clips they keep releasing on her singles and albums.  PLEASE continue doing it.  It's the biggest reason why I bought the LE this time and didn't just pick up the RE because the tracklist is actually the same so I don't really need both editions.  Seriously, if it isn't because I'm completely enamoured with Kajiura Yuki's music and prioritise Kajiura Yuki's lives & Kalafina's lives, I would totally try and go for Ieiri's lives in Japan.  If only one day her lives will happen near a Kajiura Yuki or Kalafina live, then I could try and go.  I think it'll be a blast!!

Anywayz, for those of you who wish to support Ieiri Leo's music.  Please do consider buying this release if you can afford it.  As usual, I will provide you with my CDJapan links.

BTW, just in case any of you don't know, since it's been quite some time since I mentioned this, I use affiliate links for CDJapan.  So if you don't wish to use my links, it's cool with me.  But if you do, I would be most happy of course because it does help me afford all the stuff I get for the unboxings (*sweat :P ) that I do for the blog.  But no worries if you rather not use it or if there are other links you prefer.

So with that out of the way. :)  Here are the links. :)

I'm going to put up one more post after this and then sleep.  It will be Ieiri related. :)
