Kalafina ~ ring your bell - cover art released

Kalafina has released the cover artwork for their soon to be released single "ring your bell", the ending theme for Fate/stay night [UBW].  The cover art for the anime version and the analog version were released earlier.  These is the cover art for the Regular Edition, the Limited Edition (DVD) and the Limited Edition (BD) :)  CLICK ME to view the cover art for the anime and analog versions.

They all look nice! :)  My favourite is the Regular Edition cover because I think Keiko looks really cool in that photo. :P

Now I'm just waiting for tokuten infomation. :)

Today I am sad. The first Prime Minister of Singapore has passed away and I am sad.

To me he was a great man who gathered the best people for the job and gave Singaporeans a safe haven to live, work and play.  Without him, Singapore would not be the Singapore we live in today.  He was not a perfect man and never claimed to be one.  He was sometimes controversial and unconventional but his steely determination and strong beliefs was what Singapore needed in more troubled times.  Under his guidance and his leadership, Singapore has gone from a messy British colony to one of the most prosperous countries in the world.  I know my family and I can live the life we live because he did what he had to do.

Thank you Mr. Lee Kuan Yew for all that you have done for this little red dot.  Thank you for all the hard decisions, the unpopular but necessary ones too, and for devoting your entire life to the betterment of this nation.

Rest in peace Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.  Today, I mourn with the rest of my fellow countrymen at the lost of one of the most important men in the history of our young nation.

Kalafina ~ LIVE THE BEST 2015 “Blue Day” / overall comments ~ my awesome experience

It's been 21 days since I experienced one of the best lives I have ever experienced in my life.  And I say it with great sincerity and without exaggeration.  I think most, if not all, of the people who were in the Budokan on the 1st Mar 2015 will tell you that it was an awesome live.

I'm bias of course and I don't hide it.  I have been a dedicated Kalafina fan since I first saw them live in Japan in Dec 2010 and I have progressively become more and more in love with both Kajiura Yuki and what is probably one of her most successful vocal project to date.

"Blue Day" began pretty blue for all who were in Tokyo that day.  It was a dark, gloomy, rainy and cold day.  I spent part of the day in Harajuku showing my friend who was travelling with me what Harajuku was about.  Admittedly, half my mind was on the Kalafina live which was to be held in the Budokan later that day.  While I wanted to be a responsible friend and not ditch my friend who had never been to Japan previously and who spoke almost no Japanese, it was hard for me not to think of tearing away to dash to the Budokan to buy some "Blue Day" goods.

Kalafina ~ ring your bell - anime / analog LE covers released

Kalafina released three new visuals today.  The covers for the Regular Edition, Limited Edition + DVD and Limited Edition + BD have not been released.

They did release a new promo image of the trio and the Anime LE and Analog LE covers.

L'Arc en Ciel ~ Over the L'Arc en Ciel docu - ustream

Just a really quick thing for Laruku fans.

I saw this over twitter on my way home.  It looks like they will be making the docu available online via ustream.  So if you miss the theatrical screening in Singapore or any other country or if it wasn't ever screened in your country, you can watch it now. Unfortunately, it isn't free.  You have to buy a ticket to view it.

Kalafina / Kajiura Yuki ~ Tickster Age vol. 19 / B-PASS ALL AREA vol. 1 covers

These magazines were announced a little while ago and I have already ordered them but I may not be able to get my hands on them till sometime in April or maybe even June.  I'm either going to get a friend to try and bring it back for me in April or I'll pick it up in June.  Same goes for my Bessatsu Kadokawa Kalafina, I still don't have both copies that I ordered. :(  Ah well... I am trying to save on shipping, so no choice I guess. :P

If you can read Japanese, I think the B-Pass All Area vol.1 looks like a very worthy purchase.  Some people tweeting online mentioned that there is a whopping 16 pages worth of photos and info on Kalafina and 7 pages on Kajiura Yuki.  That's a lot!! CDJapan isn't offering this but other places like Amazon Japan is.  CLICK ME.

Wild City ~ Singapore (docu)

I'm really keen to watch this!!  I hope I remember to tomorrow.  It's really easy to forget that Singapore is really one of the greener city states in the world.  I think it's really easy for Singaporeans to forget because we're surrounded by it all the time and we're often in a hurry to go places or too focus on the activity we're doing or we have our faces in our mobile phones etc.

I live in the North in Singapore where there are places that still have quite a lot of greenery than say in the South where the CBD and the shopping belt is.  I often see migratory birds in the pond nearby for example and people have seen otters as far inland as Bishan which is pretty cool in my opinion. :)

Kajiura Yuki ~ Hanako to Anne OST3 - un-boxing

I have to really zip through this because it's crazy late right now.  I had to write something else for someone else first and it took a lot longer then I anticipated so here I am now rushing. :P

WANT TO SELL: Ieiri Leo "A Boy" LE album (mint)

On my recent trip to Japan, a friend asked me to pick up some Ieiri Leo items for him.  There was a slight misunderstanding and I ended up picking up "A Boy" LE album as well.  Unfortunately, he already has a copy and he was actually looking for the 2nd concert BD. :(  He was nice enough to offer to pay for it too but I feel bad about it.  So if possible, I would like to sell it.

I would like to sell it in Singapore preferably and I would like to sell it at cost so that I don't lose too much money over this mistake. :(

This will be the last of the "un-boxing" posts on the Kalafina Budokan live goods. :)

I think I won't write my post on "Blue Day" today even though the longer I delay, the less I remember. :(  I still haven't recovered from the nasty cold I caught before the trip and in the end I had to go see the doctor for another round of antibiotics. :(  Expensive too this time round and awfully strong too, I could barely function most of the day.  Hopefully this time I will make a full and proper recovery.  Now I'm just waiting to take the last dosage and then go to bed.  So I think I can squeeze a relatively simple post in.

First up, postcards.  There were two sets available this time.  I usually don't get postcards but I kinda wanted these this time.  They look quite pretty and I really wanted to support Kalafina at their first Budokan live. :P

 

Kalafina LIVE THE BEST 2015 “Red Day” & “Blue Day” ~ tea, tea spoons, coasters

I really am quite happy with this purchase.  This was something I wanted to get from the very beginning.  It merely a matter of whether I get the full set of two mugs, two teaspoons and two coasters or just one mug and the teaspoons. In the end, I went with one mug, two teaspoons and two coasters.  I thought about getting two mugs but decided that since I will be the only one using it, it wasn't necessary and I could use the money saved on the second mug on something else.  Maybe if I get attached again, I might regret this decision though. :P

Kalafina LIVE THE BEST 2015 “Red Day” & “Blue Day” ~ misc goods

I'm still struggling with that horrid cold that I caught before I went to Japan so I actually spent most of the day resting and watching TV half awake. :P  It was a pretty bad cold actually and I had to take some paracetamol before the "Red" Day live at the Budokan, good thing my fever wasn't too high and the medication worked because if I had to miss the live because I was really ill, I think I would cry and cry!!

But enough of that!! Since I spend most of the day resting, I have energy to work on more posts today.  First more goods photos from Kalafina's live. :)  I may follow this up with another goods post but we'll see how it goes first. :)

Kalafina LIVE THE BEST 2015 “Red Day” & “Blue Day” ~ t-shirts

Now that I've come back from Japan and rested for a bit, it's time to chip away at my backlog of planned Kalafina posts. :)

I spent most of the day shooting photos of the goods that I bought at the Kalafina's first Budokan live and I would like to share them with fellow fans.  I will do this in parts, I just took some medication for a nagging cold that I caught just before I left for Japan and which I struggled with during the trip and have not recovered from yet. :(  This medication makes me drowsy, so I'll a short goods post and then go to bed.  I'll work on the rest over the coming days. :)

Kalafina ~ "Ring Your Bell"

By now I'm sure most fans already know that Kalafina will be singing the ending theme for the 2nd season of ufotable's tv series adaptation of Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] and that the single will be released on the 13th May.

You probably have no idea how much this pleases me. :)  I like ufotable's works and I like it when Kajiura Yuki and/or Kalafina works with them.  I don't know why, I always think that it's like a perfect combo.

I am back home from Japan. :)
We did something interesting on Day 7 which was out last day in Japan.

I was visiting my friend in Takasaki, Gunma and she took us to check out her friend's Daruma factory. It was very cool and I would like to write a full and proper post about it. :)

I still would like to write my Kalafina "Blue" Day post and there are some other things like new Kalafina, Kajiura Yuki releases and unboxings etc.

For now though, I need to rest. I never fly well and am exhausted from the flight and still have to unpack properly etc.

It was another great trip to Japan but as always, I am glad to be home. :)

Today we checked out the town of Shimoda. We took some pictures at the place where Commodore Perry landed in Japan and forced the country to open up.

We also checked out a shrine who's name I will check later and some of the older streets in the town. It was a pretty pleasant morning walk. :)

Japan trip Feb/Mar 2015 - Day 5 p2

My phone battery went flat yesterday and I lost connection all night. I think our ryokan for the night was located in a place where I could not get connected.

So I will backtrack a bit and delay my Kalafina post about the "Blue" Day concert till later...although I am sure most everyone has read other people's posts and the news by now. :)

Japan Trip Feb/Mar 2015 - day 4 - Kalafina "Blue Day" live

All I can say is that a Kalafina live is like a drug. You become addicted and you cannot get enough!!!

Once again I loved them. They were awesome awesome awesome!!!!

Today they announced that they will sing a new ending theme for the NHK docu Rekishi Hiwa Historia and they also announced a new Japan tour in Autumn. Oh how I wish I could come back to Japan again and attend their live....oh how I wish that they will turn this to an Asian or World tour and make Singapore one of the legs.

Japan Trip Feb/Mar 2015 - Day 4 p3 - Kalafina live "Blue"

I am in the Budokan now waiting for Kalafina's "Blue" Day live in the Budokan to begin. I am really looking forward to it.

I got a really good seat...well best that I have ever gotten in a Kalafina and Kajiura Yuki Live :) ...will post the photo of the afterwards. :)

Now I am going to rest a bit. I couldn't find any seats in the cafes and eateries near the Budokan and just spent some time in combinis to stay warm and then waited in under a building for 15 mins before returning to the Budokan to enter the building.

Surprisingly the goods queue was quite a bit longer than it was when I got here 15mins before 2pm.

The rain sucks...am glad to be sitting in the hall...dry and warm. :)

Japan Trip Feb/Mar 2015 - Day 4 p2 - Kalafina live "Blue"

I decided to come back to the Budokan earlier than I intended partly to buy the Blue concert T-shirt and partly to give my friend more time to do her own shopping. I know she was kind of waiting for me to leave so she could check Daiso out shelf by shelf. :P

The weather is horrid but the goods queue is v short. I don't know if they had more quantities of Hikaru's coin pouch or Keiko's hair band for the second day but both were sold out by the time I got there. They still had stuff available from the "Red" day and they were giving people options to buy them. But not the t-shirts though, I think no red or black ones were being sold, just blue and white.

Japan Trip Feb/Mar 2015 - Day 4 p1

I took my friend to Harajuku today. It is her first trip to Japan so I decided not to go line up for goods to take her to Harajuku. I will have to leave her later when I go to Kalafina's "Blue" Day live, but at least she isn't by herself all day. :)

We ate lots of crepe. :p Well two each to be exact.... Hahahaha...that's lunch. :P

My tix for Red Day, my seat is different for Blue Day.

I am still feeling high and happy from yesterday's live. :)  I really felt that Kalafina sounded so good yesterday.  Maybe even better than the time when I saw them for the After Eden Special live in the Tokyo Dome City Hall which I thought they were amazing too.

We aren't allowed to take photos in the Budokan itself, of course, most Japanese lives that I've been to both in Japan and in Singapore don't allow that.  They don't even allow a photo of the empty stage. :(

The Budokan is big!! Well, it is the biggest concert venue that I have ever attended, so it's BIG for me. :)

Kalafina LIVE THE BEST 2015 “Red Day” - goods preview

My friend is still sleeping in bed so I thought that I will just post a couple pictures of the goods that I picked up at the live this time. 

It's only a preview because some of it doesn't belong to me and also because I don't really want to open anything up till I get home.  So that pamphlet will remain sealed till I return to Singapore.  But when I get back I'll open everything up and shoot more photos. :)
