Japan Trip Feb/Mar 2015 ~ Day 1 p2

WILL AMEND LATER WITH PHOTOS and more stuff ~ going out now. :)

We did finally get into the Pokémon Café yesterday. :)  But it was a really long wait.  We waited an hour in queue to get a ticket number.  Then we had to register our email by using a QR code that they had provided to get to an online app.  After that, we waited another two hours for them to email us to come back to the café, where we stood in line for another 15 mins, I think before we finally made it into the café.

Good thing they gave us a ticket number though because we did go check out the rest of Shibuya during those two hours.  If we had to wait in line for two hours, I think we may have given up because it would have wasted a lot of our limited time in Tokyo.

In the end, I think the wait was worth it. The food was very cute and it was decent.  We ate the omu rice which mean that we could take the cup home and we had lattes too so we also took home the coasters.

The cup is VERY nice.  It's not made of melamine or plastic. It's a nice ceramic cup.  And we were very pleased with it. :)

We also took a really goofy photo at the café before we entered.  The café provides various props and a little setup for you to do that before you enter the café. No photo of us here yet...maybe if I have time in the future, I'll mosaic out our faces (yes, we are shy :) ) and then upload it here....but that may not happen because I get busy, lazy and then forget about it. :P

We had a super busy day actually, we walked a lot and it was raining all day in Tokyo which sucked.  Initially, I thought we would make a visit to the Shinjuku Gyoen to see if we could see any early varieties of cherry blossoms or to see if there were any plum blossoms but the rain kind of killed any chance of that and the wait to get into the Pokémon Café also took too much time. So we abandoned that plan. :(

I hope that we may see some plum blossoms at least when we go to Ueno today.  But I don't know yet... we don't want to be stressed on this trip.  We're on holiday so if some things don't fall in place, they just don't fall in place. :)

While waiting for the email from the café, we went to Loft and Muji and also checked out Parco for a bit.  I ended up buying some Sailor Moon stuff for a friend. :)

After we finished what we wanted to do in Shibuya, we headed back to Ikebukuro when we headed over to the Sunshine City area. We checked out Tokyu Hands and then made a quick trip to the Pokémon Centre, then headed to Donki where we bought a bunch of snacks and then ate cup ramen for dinner because we were kind of tired. :)

That's it for Day 1 in Japan... photos later. :)
