Japan Trip Feb/Mar 2015 - day 4 - Kalafina "Blue Day" live

All I can say is that a Kalafina live is like a drug. You become addicted and you cannot get enough!!!

Once again I loved them. They were awesome awesome awesome!!!!

Today they announced that they will sing a new ending theme for the NHK docu Rekishi Hiwa Historia and they also announced a new Japan tour in Autumn. Oh how I wish I could come back to Japan again and attend their live....oh how I wish that they will turn this to an Asian or World tour and make Singapore one of the legs.
I don't know when I will have the chance to see Kalafina live again but I will always remember these two days.

If they release a BD or DVD I am sooooooo buying it in a heartbeat.

Keiko thanked us overseas fans at the end of the live. I also want to thank Kalafina and Kajiura Yuki for wonderful music and a wonderful experience.

I hope to write a fuller comments thing later. Now I am off to dinner with one of my Japanese friends....I hope I remember the details. :)

May I know is this ring your bell or far on the water?Because this song's style does not really match with fate/stay night

This is Ring Your Bell. Far on the Water opens with a short Keiko solo. :)
Yes, I was surprised that Ring Your Bell didn't sound like a fsn type theme too. But then Hikarifuru and Alleluia also didn't sound like they would be good fits for Madoka Magical and KnK but I felt both worked really well in the end. I really would like to hear the studio versions of their two new songs now and to see how Ring Your Bell fits in with fsn ubw. :)

Yes I approve your points and now I really look forward CD's version of this song.I think this song is more better than believe and heavenly blue.So is Keiko the main vocal for far on the water?

just me said...

No, I don't think Keiko is the main vocal. They all seem to take turns here and there and then harmonize a lot. :)

Yes, totally agree that their live is a drug! I thought their Consolation live would be my first and last live to attend but then here I am. I will definitely treasure the memories of theses two concerts..I also don't know when will be my next time attending kalafina's live, since I'm so far away in Canada y.y We were in arena area both days and were quite close to the stage on blue day so hopefully we'll see ourselves in their live BD / DVD for a second or something :)

Hi Jeff!

Thanks for leaving a message. :) The Budokan lives were really incredible, I hope that one day you can experience it at one of their lives too. :) I can't wait for "Ring Your Bell" too! :)

cheers :)

It was ... superb! I almost cried out during Seventh Heaven as their voices reverbed in the hall. Memories!

Melvin
BTW do you have a facebook or twitter?

Hi Melvin,

To be honest, I was close to crying at moments during the "Blue" Day live. "Red" Day I had a happy goofy smile throughout...at least that was what my friend said. "Blue" Day though, I was soooo moved and happy at moments, I was close to tears too. :P

Yes I do have FB and Twitter. I don't do much on twitter...mainly I re-tweet things. :)

But you can follow me if you like,

I'm pleasantly surprised to see that there are quite a number of other Singaporean fans who make the effort to go watch Kalafina/YK Lives in Japan. It's quite hard to judge just how big, or small :(, their fanbase is in Singapore. I always ask for them to do a solo live here but I worry about that we may not have the fanbase to fill a hall. I've already booked my flight and accommodation for YK12, and will definitely be going for the Kalafina ones in October. How could I not after the experience that is red/blue day?

I cried several times during blue. Haha. I started tearing during seventh heaven, snow falling, and the MC. During sprinter though, I was actually crying quite hard. Playing sprinter after that kind of MC is cheating! A friend asked me if I wanted to do October after that and all I could do was nod. I wrote my feelings on the feedback form and it sort of turned into an essay. Lol. My feelings had to go somewhere. ^^;

Praying hard that I can get tickets to Kalafina's two October lives in Tokyo. Even with FJC, it's been getting increasingly difficult to obtain tickets to their lives. Will you be attending as well? I'm trying to get my friend to go and he seems to be tempted. *evil smile*

Hello Hatou,

TBH, I didn't realise for several years that there were other people from Singapore that travelled to Japan to attend Kalafina/YK lives too till two years ago when I chanced upon a comment somewhere online which talked about a Singaporean who had gone to Japan to see Kalafina live. :)

I always write on their questionnaire asking them to come to Singapore too. I think it would awesome to see them live at the concert hall in the Esplanade. But like you, I don't know how big their fanbase is in Singapore and don't even know if they could fill Scape. :(

I know you, my friend and a handful of others who would go to their one man in SG I think. But the only one I know who goes to their lives in JP regularly is me, till I met you. :)

I haven't booked my flight to JP yet for YK12. I keep bugging my friend to confirm with me the dates but I'm losing patience and have told them they must tell me next week so that we can get plane tixs. :( I have been bugging them for a month.

I managed not to cry during Blue day. :P But I was very close to several times. Seventh Heaven, Snow Falling, Symphonia.... so many times I wanted to cry because it was soooooo achingly beautiful.... when Keiko thanked the fans and the overseas fans too during that MC, I was the closest to losing control. If I was standing next to you, I probably would have cried!! But I was amongst strangers as I had gone to Blue day by myself, so I was trying to look "cool". LOL

I wrote some garbled stuff in terrible Japanese and mostly in hiragana because my Kanji is terrible...I wanted to say a lot but I had dinner appointments I had to make after the lives so wrote what I could and handed them in. :(

Hahahahaha...indeed Sprinter after an MC that made you cry! Cheat!!! LOL

OMG.... I want to go to October's lives SOOOOOOOOO badly now. The Budokan lives were MAGIC!!!!! I walked out thinking.... OMG a Kalafina live... it is a drug.... I am addicted and I can't quit... I want more... I need more!!!

But I don't know if I can afford October. It depends very much on the June trip. If my friends decide not to come with me and make it a TRIP TRIP, then I will cut short my June trip to just the week for YK12 and return to SG. Then will have leave and possibly money to do Oct but currently, I'm thinking it's looking hard for me to go again. :'( I could probably manage year end or most likely next year.... but that feels sooooooooo long now. *sniff

Good luck with those tickets to Kalafina's October lives! I'm horribly tempted...I'm going to have to figure out my finances and if I can get leave etc. I know, Kalafina's tickets are getting hard to get... and I'm even wondering if I should apply for a membership too so that I could get one extra chance. I left some money with a friend in Japan who is waiting for me to decide. I'm still wavering. :P

If it helps, you'll gain acccess to FC ballots as well as FC-only Lives.

Plus a newsletter every quarter, but main focus will be the balloting priority before it goes public xD

just me said...

Thanks Bevan :)

Thing is, I have a friend who is already in the FJC and I ask her to help me with tickets. While I would like my own membership, just so that I can say I am a member of FJC! :P ...I am not sure if I should plunk the money in it yet. But I am thinking that in the future, maybe I will need to since Kalafina seems to be getting so popular in the last year that getting tickets to their live is going to be hard.

Would be nice to one day go to their FJC only lives. I haven't been to one before.

I also don't get the newsletter or the membership card. I also feel bad about asking my friend to help me order stuff from the FJC only section in the Space Craft Webstore because she's quite a busy person and also because I can only pay her when I meet her which could be months later... hence why I was wavering about signing up myself and left some money with another friend who's address I would use should I sign up.

So many things to think about. :P

I actually sat alone for red/blue day as well, but cried nonetheless. Bevan initially rejected my invite but decided after, to go so we bought tickets separately. Aside from him, you're the only one I know of who attends live in Japan too.

You might want to hurry with getting your tickets. The airlines have released their promo prices for June. Depending on how long you may want to stay, it is possible to get tickets from as low as 570 SGD for a direct, non-budget flight. It's June, so I expect cheap tickets to sell out real quick.

I do hope that you decide to attend the live in October. Since Kalafina are doing a tour post October, I doubt they have the time to come to Singapore for AFA. No matter. The sound is horrible here anyway. I'll just have to go to them! There's nothing quite like Kalafina lives, IMO. Not even YK lives, which are unique in their own way. I've actually gotten tickets to the special YK live in July too, but I probably have to get budget air tickets for that during a sale. Maybe do a fly in on Saturday morning and leave on late Sunday night for a one night stay mega run ^^; I probably shouldn't have gone for it but well, life is short. I should attend them while I can.

If you can't attend the October ones though, perhaps try for one after in their tour? I would suggest acoustic with strings but it's not certain that they would do one this year. Also, tickets for acoustic with strings are really really hard to get. FJC helps, but even then it's really hard.

BTW, the YK FJC lives are a really special experience. They're rare, but they're like a mini KajiFes since there are multiple artistes present. You get FJ one moment and Kalafina the next. We got a very special version of Nowhere, much like that very special all stars open your heart at KajiFes. I would definitely try and go again. Better ticketing chances and special lives aside, I mostly joined FJC so I can wear my FJC hoodie and show off, lol. Just kidding. I am proud to be a FJC member. I do know certain long time members that have maintained their sub 1000 FJC membership number throughout the years. Makes me regret misplacing my 4xxx membership card and having it replaced with a 6xxx one. I'm pretty sure they have broken 7xxx members by now. Perhaps even reached 8xxx after the amazing performance at Budokan.

By the way, will you be attending all 6 YK12 lives in Tokyo?

Ah! So you were in the arena too! :) Seriously, when it comes to Kalafina, you just have to see them live in Japan. I saw them live in Singapore and live in Malaysia and it just isn't the same. Firstly, it's not their one-man live, they only sing maybe 7 songs. And the venue is usually a crappy all purpose hall that isn't really meant for lives. Also, they sing to a -1 tape, no front man members, no manipulator etc. It just isn't the same and they can't show you what they are capable of because the set up is quite simply not ideal. :(

I'm pretty worried about those plane tickets to be honest. So I finally got them to sit down for a meeting on Friday after which I will buy at the very least, my own plane ticket even if they can't agree. But I will be pretty miffed if they decided to pull out of a trip and I have already locked myself into staying for an extra week in June because that money could have gone to the Kalafina live in October.

I'm beginning to get quite keen to go for the October lives since you are right, I'm thinking them coming for AFA Singapore is pretty slim as it stands since they announced their Japan tour. This year's AFA is in Nov, I'm thinking they won't be able to come even if they wanted to. :( Dang it. I was hopeful that they may come but then they are already going to AFA Thailand. :( And yeah, AFA isn't the best place to see them. It'll be at Suntec again and those aren't even proper halls to see any live. It's just that it'll be cheaper for us since we don't have to get a plane ticket to go.

Ohhhhh.... so you'll be going to YK's Orchard special lives. Hahahahaha!!! YOLO!!!! I wish I could but I can't consider a July trip so soon after a June trip.

Acoustic with strings is something I always wanted to go but it's usually right around Christmas which is a tricky time for me to be away because of family stuff. But that is something I could consider that's for sure. Have you attended one? These are really hard to get? Hmmmm... then it might be worth getting a FJC membership to try for these tickets should I want to go. Then with my friend's FJC membership, we could get two chances. It's just that, I don't know how to sell those tickets if we end up with extra. Do you know if we can give up the chance should we not need the extra tickets OR must I pay for them regardless and then try and sell them off? I'll sell them at cost of course, I always sell extra tickets at cost in SG, I hate those ticket scalpers who make fans' lives miserable. :(

I couldn't go to KajiFes, I was really bummed about it but I just couldn't make it work. I really should try and go for one of these YK FJC lives at least once in my life. You make it sound soooooo amazing. :)

I will be attending all 6 YK12 lives in Tokyo. The first time she did this was in YK9, I think, but I only managed to get tickets for Day 1 and I was super bummed about it because I was in Tokyo for Day 2 and 3 too but I didn't have tickets. So this time I decided, I'm going to go for ALL 6 to make up for not being able to see Day 2 and 3 the last time. I'm really looking forward to this and looking forward to not just seeing YK & FJ but also the soundtrack days when FJ aren't there. The instrumental tracks that the musicians performed during the Budokan live was AMAZING and I was in awe!! :)

Hmmmmm.... I don't usually do this...but perhaps we can meet up some day, maybe even in Tokyo? :)

I don't have a lot of contact details available on the blog because I prefer to avoid as much spam as possible.... but if you have twitter, you can add me and you will be able to DM me from there. My twitter user name is: SharonApple2000

Hahahahaha!!!

I'm really leaning towards getting the membership now even though I don't really need it yet, since my friend in Japan is happy to keep her membership and loves Kalafina and YK too. But I kind of wanna be a member just to say I am a member. :P
