HDB at night

(ammended 6:45 pm 11th Feb 2006)

One of the things the Fuji v10 claims to have is the ability to shoot in low light situations. So one of the things I did this week was to try the camera's ability to shoot at night. And although some of the photos can appear muddy if there is too little light, still the ability to register an image is rather impressive for a camera of its range and price.

So here are some shots of Yishun shot at night.

If you look carefully at the bottom of the flat, you'll see that the ground floor is actually clear right through. This is called a void deck in Singapore. The void deck is quite an interesting area in the HDB estates in Singapore as it is used for all kinds of social events. Funerals, weddings, Hari Raya Puasa break fast prayers are just some of the events that are held at the deck. I remember one year, I even participated in an election at the void deck in the opposite deck one year.

A kopi-tiam in Yishun Central.

Shots of Yishun Central. You can see Northpoint Shopping Centre in the backgound.

That's it for now.

cheers =)

i rather enjoy cooling nights when there aren't a lot of ppl and it's nice when you go ard taking photos or video and no one's watching of pointing their finger at you. looking at these pictures, it's as if something's waiting to happen on these streets, like some bulb's abt to break and a big gang fight is about to erupt in the quietest of ways (reading too much J.To recently). least that's the feeling i get from these contrasty pics. love to shoot at night, just that the problem is i don't own a light generator, i shd find out how much it costs to rent one so i can blast the entire street with light and shoot all i wnat! wldn't it be cool to block the street and get a dolly and a crane as well...just dreaming..
