The Miracles: Tong Yao 童瑶 & Chen Xiao 陈晓's "The Piano of the City" Wraps Filming!

Hello fellow Tong Yao fans! The plot for Tong Yao's chapter in The Miracles (奇迹) just got thicker. New details have emerged that confirm some rumors while making the details even more mystifying.

First, let's start with what we know. The Guomao Building's official XiaoHongShu account has been a good source of information. Not only did it confirm that Tong Yao's story is set at their iconic location and that Chen Xiao (陈晓) is her co-star, but the post also tagged two more actors: Deng Jiajia (邓家佳) and Dong Yong (董勇). While their exact roles are unconfirmed, we now know more details about the cast, whereas previously all we knew was that Tong Yao would most likely be starring in this short story.

This brings us to the mystifying details. In the previous post on The Miracles, I discussed the rumored The Piano of the City storyline and speculated on who might be playing whom. Now with video clips on XHS showing Chen Xiao dressed as a construction worker, the initial guess that Tong Yao would play the protagonist builder, Lu Yuchun (whom we assumed to be female), is now up in the air. The original synopsis mentioned a "girlfriend," so it's unlikely Chen Xiao is playing her. Is Tong Yao playing the girlfriend, Su Mingshu? Or are they both in completely different roles? Right now, I really have no idea.

Also, filming for this segment has wrapped! The strongest evidence comes directly from the Guomao Building's post, which included a photo of Tong Yao and Chen Xiao holding a celebratory bouquet of flowers with the rest of the cast and crew. Also, unofficial video clips taken by bystanders feature the usual celebratory cheer that they shout out when they gather for the photography, and they clearly call out "城的琴创造奇迹!" (The Piano of the City creates a miracle!). So we know for sure now that the segment is really titled "城的琴" and this gives more credence to the information in the first write-up about the storyline.

Adding to this, Tong Yao herself posted a cheerful update on her Weibo today (July 2nd), saying:

"终于可以回家了，呜呼~" (Finally, I can go home, woohoo~)

Looks like Tong Yao is heading home for a much-deserved rest after a string of busy projects, and the timing is certainly suggestive! Combined with the wrap photo from the set, videos from bystanders, it feels safe to say her journey with The Miracles has concluded for now.

With filming complete, the next stop is post-production. Let's hope the official character posters, an official post from Weibo, or a trailer are just around the corner to finally give us some answers.
