Kalafina Paper vol.2 ~ unboxing

This time it's the Kalafina Paper vol.2.  This was published for the Consolation Special Live in April of this year.  I asked one of my friends to help me purchase it from the Spacecraft Webstore and had another friend carry it back to Singapore for me a few weeks ago. :)

This is the 2nd time a Kalafina Paper has been published.  The first one was for the After Eden Special Live. Here is the link to that unboxing....click me.  I'm beginning to think that they are thinking of publishing a Kalafina Paper for every album release and coincide that release with the commemorative live for that album.  So...fingers crossed that there will be many more Kalafina Papers in the future. :)

As far as I can tell, they seem to be keeping to the same concept they had with the first Kalafina Paper.  So here we have something that in essence a "pamphlet" unlike most of the Live "pamphlets" that they release.  Those are really more like books than pamphlets.  I'm not complaining though.  I like the books as much as I like the pamphlets. :)

Kalafina Paper Vol.2 isn't quite as bright or "angelic" looking as Vol.1.  Vol.1's colour scheme was most white and blue and had a cooler color template than Vol.2.  With Vol.2, were are back to more earth tones which is really similar to the colors and concept they chose for the Consolation album.

Vol.2 is also more "complicated" than Vol.1 which was a few pages folded in halves and put together.  Vol.2 is folded in a more complicated way and unfolds to reveal a large poster.  Kinda cool, although I wish the poster wasn't an extreme long shot.  I would prefer to be able to see their faces better.

Anyway...let's cut to the chase...here are the rest of the photos. I shot photos of every page. :)



Here's the photo of the enter poster. It's not the best of photos but it was a little hard to shoot given the over head lights in my room. Also, I shot a close up of Keiko in that poster. :p

Yuki Kajiura Live vol.10 Kaji Fes.goods ~ playing cards - unboxing

I think it was because I haven't been able to travel to Japan this year and haven't been able to attend any of Kajiura Yuki's or Kalafina's lives this year that I decided to make what some might think is a frivolous purchase. :)  Well, I am a crazy Kajiura Yuki fan so, nothing is a frivolous purchase to me. :P I would have bought the pouch with the candy too if I was at the concert venue itself but because I didn't want to trouble my friend too much, I decided just to get the playing cards. :)

This is a pretty simple post.  There really isn't much to say except that the cardboard has a glossy and smooth finish.  All the numbered cards, including the Ace, have no photos on them.  The photos are all printed on the Jack, King and Queen cards of each suit.  The one single photo of Kajiura Yuki at her piano and another one of just a piano on it's own are on the Jokers.  This is somewhat typically low key of Kajiura Yuki. :)  The main vocalists in the Kajiura Yuki family, Keiko, Wakana, Hikaru, Oda Kaori, Yuriko Kaida and Nanri Yuuka get two photos each.

Kalafina CDs ~ CDJapan discounts ~ selected at 10~50% off

I just finished shooting photos of a few more things and will hopefully get to as many as possible in the coming week.

Meanwhile, for those of you who are interested in purchasing Kalafina's CDs, CDJapan has several on discount right now.  The deepest discount is for the Moonfesta singles. All of them are selling for 50% off.  Right now, for example, you can get the Moonfesta RE at 572 yen.  That's pretty good!!

At this kind of price, I think I will pick up the Moonfesta LE (DVD+CD) release.  I already have the RE release as well as the LE (BD+CD) release.  If I get the DVD+CD release, I will be able to get the full set!! :)

The Consolation album is also discounted but only the LEs are discounted at 10% off for the BD edition and 20% off for the DVD edition

I want the RE actually but it isn't discounted. :( I would like to also get the LE with the DVD to complete the set.  At 20% off, it's very tempting but ... I have other items I would like to purchase too... so... I will have to think about this first.

The Hikaru Furu LE DVD edition is also discounted at 20% off.  That's tempting for me too since I only own the LE BD edition.  But again, I really want the RE edition but that's not discounted. :(

Some of them have limited copies, so if any of them appeal to you... don't think too long about it.  I think I will pick up the Moonfesta LE DVD version.  Am not sure about the others yet... we'll see. :)

Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.10 Kaji Fes. 2013 Pamplet ~ unboxing

The pamphlet comes with a bookmark.

First... let me write a paragraph that isn't related to the unboxing, then I'll get to the unboxing. :)

I only just found out a few days ago that there were several people who were really looking forward to this unboxing.  I am really sorry I didn't get to this earlier and this item is now OOP. :( :(  A combination of exhaustion (probably from too much work) and illness left me so tired that I had to make a decision to limit as many of my activities as possible so that I could rest and recover.  While I still tire quite easily, I am getting stronger everyday as long as I make sure I sleep enough. :)

Okay...let's cut to the chase and try and blast through this. :)

First up, the close up of the bookmark.  The front design is made up of a series of 7 mid-shot photos of Hikaru, Keiko, Wakana, Kajiura Yuki, Nanri Yuuka, Oda Kaori and Yuriko Kaida.  The back has the Kaji Fes. logo printed on it.



To give you an idea of the dimensions of this pamphlet, I put the recently released blu-ray of the Yuki Kajiura vol.4 Lives next to it.  So, as you can tell, it's not a big book at all.



Here are the photos of the cover, the back, the side and the binding  This is a nice and solid hardcover release.  Compared to some of Kajiura Yuki's past Live pamphlet releases, this is actually closer to a standard kind of cover design and binding, in my opinion.

 

This is a pretty thick concert pamphlet from Kajiura Yuki.  It consist of 112 pages is printed on nice and thick paper.  It opens with a page listing all the names of all the performers that night, a content page and a foreword by Kajiura Yuki herself.



It's quite common to see little drawings, like the those in the following photos, peppered throughout Kajiura Yuki's live pamphlets.  I don't know about other people, but I really like these little drawings. :)  Usually, we get the black and white line art drawings like those in the photo on the right.  But this time we also get a few that look like water color paintings like those on the left.  I'm not sure if the colored drawings are making their debut in this pamphlet but if I remember correctly, in previous Kajiura Yuki pamplets that I own, they only had the b&w line art.



After Kajiura Yuki's foreword, we get several pages of photos of Kajiura Yuki, Nanri Yuuka and FictionJunction at the lives.  A page of photos is devoted to each Live from vol.1 to vol.9.



After that is a several pages of interviews and full page color photos of Kajiura Yuki and the FictionJunction utahimes and the Font Band Members.  There is only a two-page spread devoted to Kalafina.but this isn't an interview, more like just an introduction of the vocal unit.

  
 

This is followed by a section of Guest Interviews.  These are mostly short one page, shot answer interviews asking the guest vocalist the same list of questions about their thoughts about Kajiura Yuki and her music, their thoughts about the coming vol.10 live  as well as, what each of these vocalist are doing presently.



After that, we have several pages of information detailing stuff like Kajiura Yuki's discography, setlist as well as more interviews with producers from Aniplex, ufotable and NHK.  Inserted between these pages of information were more full page color photos of Kajiura Yuki and FictionJunction

  

And that's it.  In my opinion, this is a nice release.  Lot's of information and a nice balance of interviews and photos.  I really didn't expect this to go out of print so quickly.  Usually, these Live pamphlets remain available on the Spacecraft web store for quite some time before they sell out.  Maybe this release sold so well because this is the book that commemorates Kajiura Yuki's 20 years in the industry?  I really don't know.

Okay... it's 11:30pm... I think I will probably shoot photos of another item after I publish this post... but I may not write that unboxing post till Sunday.  I have classes tomorrow and dinner with friends after that so I am not sure if I will have enough energy to do that unboxing.

Kalafina & Claris to sing theme songs for Madoka movie 3

No major surprises here, given that both vocal units have sung the theme songs for the Anime series and the earlier movies. Still I am SUPER happy to see that it is confirmed that Kalafina will continue to be involved in the Mahou Shoujo Madoka franchise. :)

Fingers crossed that they will have a commemorative live in October when I am in Japan...then it would be PERFECT!! :)

really short post...sorry for the wait guys...it has not been the best last few weeks for me...and i guess i really didn't think anyone really cared that much about my unboxing posts but me... :p

the photos for the Kajiura Yuki Kaji Fes. Vol. 10 Live pamphlet have been shot...i did them before i left for work today. :)

i will be home late today but plan to do this unboxing and maybe more Kajiura related stuff, if i have time, tomorrow night.
