Chinese Drama: 四喜 (Si Xi) - Wrap Up & CCTV 2025 TV Series Release Event

Si Xi (unofficial English title Those Days) announced that production wrapped on December 15th. As is often the case, the production team released stills and a wrap SP video to mark the occasion. A few days earlier, on December 11th, Si Xi was featured at the CCTV 2025 TV Series Release Event. This suggests that the series will likely air on CCTV as well as receive an online release through Tencent's platforms.

I’ve already written an English summary of what the story might be about, but with a caveat: these summaries are often based on the novel that the series is adapted from, and TV adaptations sometimes take creative liberties. The series’ official Weibo account has yet to provide much concrete information about the plot.

The CCTV 2025 TV Series Release Event included a short teaser for Si Xi, offering a glimpse of some scenes and introducing the main cast. I was surprised to discover while watching the clip that Wang Ju has a role in the series. I loved her in Delicious Romance! She and Zhang Hanyun were my favorites in that series, so I’m thrilled to see her in this one. She plays a character called Da Ni, though I don’t yet know how her role connects to the main characters.

Tong Yao, Lin Xiaojie, Yue Hong, Li Zhixia, and director Shen Yan also appeared at the event. I translated and subtitled both the teaser and the event video into English, which you can watch below.

Although the Wrap SP video provides even less information than the CCTV video—since most of it focuses on the cast and crew celebrating the end of production—it’s still worth watching at least once. The video opens with an introduction to the main cast and their characters, cleverly using visuals to hint at their relationships and personalities. I’ve included the video below so you don’t need to search for it on Weibo, especially if accessing Weibo is difficult for you.

I didn’t subtitle most of the dialogue since it mainly consists of generic comments like “Congrats on wrapping up production.” However, I did super the cast and character names, as I believe it wasn’t until the release of the Wrap promo materials that we could confirm the characters some actors were playing.
