Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: Rebellion ~ Blu-ray Limited Edition - unboxing
Finally, I have some time to do this unboxing.... it'll be another very picture heavy, text light unboxing because it's getting late and I need to sleep soon... I have many long days planned this week and tomorrow is one of them... so I need to get some rest in tonight. :)
So here goes... photos first. :)
As usual, I shot photos of the box-set with the plastic wrapping still on.
f
This is a sheet of paper that they often put at the back of their BD/DVD box-sets. This contains information on what is included in the box-set.
These are the photos of the slipcase with the plastic wrap off. And it's BEAUTIFUL. If you look at the middle photo in the first row of photos, you can see that I shot a close up so that you can see that the hardboard has a very nice texture. The slipcase has a cut-out in the middle so that the illustration on the tray-pack inside can be seen. I really like this design because it looks like a stain-glass window... well... sort of since the illustration of Ultimate Madoka and Akemi Homura isn't a "stain-glass" looking design.
This is another sheet of paper that is often included in the packaging of the BD/DVD box-sets from Japan. This is usually included in the slipcase and let's you know what is on the discs that you just purchased.
The above are the photos of the 8 panel digi-pak with two trays. Two panels at the back form a bigger illustration of the Ultimate Madoka and Akemi Homura illustration that one can see though the cut-out from the slipcase. For some reason, this illustration always reminds me of the "Hand of God" image on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
Here are the photos of the really cool Material Book. It is chocked full of material. And there is longish interview with Kajiura Yuki for Kajiura Yuki fans. :) The photos are not in page order because I mixed up the front and the back of the booklet and I'm too lazy :P to sort it out now. :D
There is a page in the booklet that includes the track list on the soundtrack CD that is included in the Limited Edition.
This is the first time I've seen this included in a box-set from Japan. I like it that they didn't just include a boring looking slip of paper with instructions on how to remove the discs from the tray. They printed an illustration of Bebe on the other side of the instruction slip. :)
That's it for the unboxing of the box-set itself.
This time, I also decided to do something extra. :)
I shot a few photos of the menu animation on the BD disc. I don't have a BD player on my comp, so I had to shoot this off the TV. Also, I don't have a full HD tv, I have a 39 inch HD ready LCD tv and I play the BDs on my PS3. That's my setup. The menu animation is quite nice and a lovely classical tune plays along with the shifting boxes. Lovely!! I also shot 3 photos of the anime itself and included two photos with the English subtitles so that you can see what the subs look like.
Finally...
Here are the photos of the First Press Release tokuten from CDJapan. It's a high quality and very cool poster of Akemi Homura. I love it!! :)
I also included some photos of the way CDJapan packages their posters. They do pack them very nicely.
CDJapan rolls up the poster and secures it with a ring of paper and tape, and then wraps it in a thin sheet of green paper and then secures that with another ring of paper and tape and then finally puts the poster in a hollow cardboard roll. My posters always arrive in perfect shape and they are very good for storage too. :)
Before I go to sleep... I'll leave you with the links to purchase this set from the same place I got mine from. You are welcome to use these links if you like. :)
