Ieiri Leo ~ "Silly" - 8th single release announce

Today's post isn't about Kajiura Yuki, FictionJunction or angela.  :P Instead, today's post is about one of my other favourites singer-songwriter Ieiri Leo. :)

Ieiri Leo made a new single announce on Friday evening.  Her new single titled "Silly" will be released on the 19th Nov 2014.  Oh..... that's the same date that Kalafina's single "Believe" is released.  Well, I guess I will be shipping them together then. :)

This single will be the final single she will release before she turns twenty on the 13th Dec.  For those who may not know, for the Japanese, their 20th birthday is an important event.  The year they turn 20 (or hatachi in Japanese) is the year they come of age.

The title song of the new single, "Silly", has been chosen to be the theme song for a new drama that's scheduled to premier on the 17th Oct, Friday 10pm.  The drama is titled "N no tameni" (『Nのために』).  This makes it the fourth time that Ieiri has provided a song for use in a drama series as a theme song.

This new series stars Eikura Nana and is based on an original work by award winning crime fiction and thriller writer, Minato Kanae.  The popular writer's début work, "Confessions" (Kokuhaku), won the Honya Taisho Award and was made famous by Nakashima Tetsuya who's film based on the book was not only a huge commercial success but also critically praised and became Japan's entry to the 83rd Academy Awards.

Minato also wrote "Yakou Kanransya" which was also adapted into a drama series in 2013 and also aired on TBS.  The same production crew that made "Yakou Kanransya" were gathered to make "N no tameni".  CLICK ME to read about the drama.

They will be releasing 3 versions of this single.  And as seems to be a common thing in Ieiri's releases, one of the Limited Edition versions comes with a DVD containing clips of her live performance.  Also, as is often the case with Ieiri's releases, each edition comes with tracks that are not found in the other versions.

Looks like Kajiura Yuki would like to do one of those twitter events again.  For those who don't know, it's an event that Kajiura Yuki conducts on twitter.  Everyone will gather on twitter at the appointed time, and hit play on the BD/DVD/CD (this time it's a BD) at the same time and as you watch the  video with Kajiura Yuki, you can read her tweets and communicate with her via twitter.  I think it's kinda cool that she holds these events.  I've never attended one, sadly. :(  My Japanese isn't really that good yet and a lot of the times, for some odd reason, I'm actually not home when these events occur.

Kajiura Yuki hasn't decided on the date yet but so far it looks like it'll quite possibly be on the 4th or 5th Oct.  But that may change.

Also, FictionJunction's artist page at JVC / FlyingDog's website has a minor update where they posted the cover art and track list etc.  I think this was a relatively recent update since I don't remember seeing it earlier... but then I could be wrong since I might not have seen it since I may have been looking at another page which has no update.  It's a pretty minor update but in case you wanna check it out.... here is the website link.  CLICK ME.

Also, my copy has shipped!!! :)  But unfortunately, it has shipped to my friend in Japan so I won't get it till next week I think when our mutual friend brings it back to SG for me. :P

First... here's a photo of the BD disc, she was kind enough to shoot one photo for me. :)

It's probably going to be a basic release, as in no special packaging etc.  Hmmmmm.... which reminds me... I never did that post on the Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.11 FJ Yuuka release.  I have to go find those photos I shot and do a quick write up before this BD gets to me. :P

Now... you may be wondering why I send this BD to my friend in Japan instead of to myself in SG.  In part, this will save me money in shipping because my friend will bring it back for me.... but more importantly, I did it because I want that tokuten they are giving out with the purchase of both this release and the YK LIVE vol.11 FJ Yuuka release.

When they first released information about these BD releases, they also talked about the tokuten. CLICK ME to read my original post about this.

Basically, what you have to do is buy both releases.... the official titles are:

You'll need to look for one of the insert sheets they put into these releases.  It'll look like this.  And you'll need to cut off the corner that says "応募券".  This is from the Yuki Kajiura LIVE Vol.#11 FictionJunction YUUKA 2days Special 2014.02.08-09 Nakano SunPlaza  (VTXL-19-20) release,

You'll need to stick this corner to the application form that comes in this release.  Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.#11 elemental Tour 2014 2014.04.20 @NHK Hall + Making of LIVE vol.#11  (VTXL-21)

You'll also need to prepare a money order for 700 yen. And then mail the application for with this 700 yen money order to the address provided.

You can see the address in the bottom of the photo above this and you'll have till the 31st Oct to mail the application for the tokuten to them.

If you're wondering what it is, it is a DVD with more "making of" footage.  Apparently they shot 100 hours worth of footage in HD.  Naturally, they can't put all 100 hours in the BD, so a portion of it will be a bonus track on the BD. Another portion will be in this special DVD that they will give out to ALL who apply for it.

So now my friend in Japan has the application form and 700 yen.  Our mutual friend was suppose to pass her the sheet with the "応募券" triangle at the bottom but she left it on her desk at home. :(  She said she'll mail it to my friend in Japan when she gets back... so I hope it all goes well.  If it goes well, then I will be able to get this extra DVD bonus too.  YAY!!!! :)  Fingers crossed.

Unfortunately, this bonus DVD is only for residents of Japan. :(  So all international fans can't apply for this bonus DVD without jumping through a few hoops.  That's why I had to ask my friend in Japan for a favour.  It's really nice of her to agree to do it. :)

Okay... I'm tiring rapidly... surprisingly rapidly... I must be really tired today... :(  So I'm going to call it a day for now.  Will just take one more look thru' twitter and if nothing else pops up.... it's off to bed for me. :)

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works ~ IIlya and Berserker's character CM online

I'm really looking forward to this anime.  We don't have much longer to wait to hear Kalafina's new song and watch ufotable's latest work.  I should go watch Fate/Zero again.  ufotable will stream it on niconico just before the premier of Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works but it's Japan only unfortunately.

 

Next up will be Kotomine Kirei.

Okay....that's probably it for me today... we'll see... I'll be going through some email and twitter etc and if nothing of interest comes up... I'll call it a day and head to bed. :)

ufotable ~ God Eater anime - releases design visual

I'm a little late with this.  This came out late last week but I was kinda busy and tired.  ufotable has released the official website url and a design visual for the anime.

As usual, I hope Kajiura Yuki will be involved in the music because I just like Kajiura Yuki + ufotable. :)  To this day, I still consider Kara no Kyoukai music to be Kajiura Yuki's best work and I still like this series of movies the most out of all the anime that ufotable has produced to date.

Kalafina ~ blog post by Keiko ~ "Me" - 20th Sept 2014 (translation)

This turned out to be a relatively easy to understand blog post from Keiko so I thought I'll translate it for those of us who can't read Japanese.  Sometimes the blog post can be hard for me and I can take some time reading them but this was very do-able. :P

This won't be that accurate.  My Japanese still isn't great and I feel that Japanese can sometimes be a little obscure and unless one's understanding of the language is good enough to understand some of nuances etc, it may be hard to get the actual meaning.  So with that disclaimer out of the way...

Here we go :)

It's cold, isn't it!!
For a person who's sensitive to cold, like me, the change of seasons is particularly tough.
(*￣ー￣)フフ ...this kind of feeling.

Soon, the 23rd will arrive. This year will be the third time "Music Energy 2014" has been held.
Artistes who belong to the company I belong to, Spacecraft, gathered to rehearse.  The rehearsal went well.


Yesterday, we performers were signing autographs.

[me: I'm not sure what "皆で円になってのサイン書きが楽しすぎて" means but I think it means...] We sat in a circle, signing autographs and it was too enjoyable, and it became "what does everyone like to eat?" question time!!

First, Yuhki Aira-sama likes "seafood curry", Oda Kaori-sama likes "lightly pickled celery", Anna Santos-sama likes "fresh coriander", Ogawa Mana-sama likes "Shio ramen", Uura Saeka-sama likes "fried chicken and soup curry", Haruna Luna-sama likes "CoCo Ichibanya's curry and dried tomato toppings"
Hmmmm... looks like curry is the most popular.

Everyone decided that we should have curry on the day of the live.  We could have curry after the live too...

Ah, you already know what Wakana-chan and Hikaru-chan like to eat, right? (laugh)
But,,, I will write it... it'll feel lonely if I don't. (／▽＼)

Wakana-sama likes "vegetables and gyozas", Hikaru-sama like "chicken and eggs".

I like meat and chocolate!!

It was a very enjoyable scene!
It's been a year since we gathered for MUSIC ENERGY,,, I think each performer would like to convey to everyone the energy in the music that each performer has cultivated during the live that night because I would like to see a lot of people at the live.

I kind of enjoyed "translating" this.  Good practice for me too. :P I hope you enjoyed it.  There is another one from Wakana that I was thinking of tackling the other day.  Maybe if I have time this week I'll do it... but we'll see.  It's getting kind of crazy at work because we have to deliver temps by the end of the month and I've started weekend work.  There'll probably be OT during the week, maybe almost everyday too.  It's a good thing I enjoy my job. :)

Kalafina was also one of the artistes at Lisani! Live-4 this year in January and their full set can be seen on the Blu-ray that comes with their THE BEST "Blue" Limited Edition album.

Too bad I won't be in Japan in Jan.  It would be nice to attend a big anisong event like this.  I've never been to one.  I hope to one day but one of the criteria will be that Kalafina or Kajiura Yuki/FictionJunction will have to make an appearance too. :P

I'll maybe try and write another post later... but we'll see... it was a very long day at work today.  It was a good day at work, I got a lot done... but I may just decide to crash out... we'll see. :P

Anime Festival Asia 2014 (Singapore) ~ 2nd wave of anisong artist, 25th Sept announce

Here's an interesting announce for ufotable.  It seems like they'll be making a God Eater anime. :)

God Eater Game

God Eater is a video game but I don't know much about it because I don't play it.  Huh.... interesting. Ever since Kara no Kyoukai and Fate/Zero, I've really quite like ufotable's work.  It's just a short announce for now but I'll probably end up keeping an eye on this. They'll be making a fuller announce later today. :)

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works ~ OP Ayano Mashiro - Cover Art released

Ahhhh... ufotable has released images of the cover art for Ayano Mashiro's single.  She sings the opening theme of ufotable's adaptation of the Unlimited Blade Works route of Fate/Stay Night.

We still don't have images for the cover art for Kalafina's EP but for now, us ufotable fans can enjoy the cover art for the other singles that are related to this anime.  One of the covers is an image of Emiya Shirou.  He is on the cover of the anime version for "ideal white".

I'm hoping that Kalafina gets Tohsaka Rin because I like her more than Emiya Shirou. :P

Kalafina ~ "believe" (Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works EP) - new single announce!! :)

Finally, the announce all Kalafina fans have been waiting for. :)  It's official, Kalafina's new single will be titled "believe" and it will be released on the 19th Nov 2014.  The announce from SMEJ came attached with a very cool picture of Kalafina. This is them looking at their most "dangerous" yet. :)

As previously rumoured, there will be the four usual versions.

If I read it correctly, the poster exchange is a first-come, first-serve thing.  Those who wish to get the poster will need to buy the CD on that day and at the location itself in order to receive a ticket which they can exchange for a notification poster after the end of the mini-live.  Kalafina, themselves, will not be the ones who'll be handing out these posters.

The next event that they have announced is in the Kansai area.

ANISONG World Tour Lantis Festival in Singapore in 2015... JAM Project :)

Well well well... looks like Japan music fans, anisong fans in particular, really have quite a lot to be happy about. :)  Anime Festival Asia in Dec 2014 and now we'll also be getting the Lantis Festival in SG next year.  Which means JAM Project will be performing in Singapore. :)  I might go for JAM Project. :)

Anime Festival Asia 2014 (Singapore) ~ first phase of artistes announce today (updated)

Oh.... I almost forgot about this. :P  They're going fancy this year and doing the announce via a live stream on youtube. :)

The stream isn't live yet but you can gaze at the countdown clock if you like. :D

This year's festival will be the biggest yet, I think.  They booked up the whole fourth floor at the convention centre at Suntec and if I'm not wrong, it'll be 3 full days. :)  I actually already applied for leave on Friday already so I'll most likely be going on Friday and Saturday.  Am still not sure if I'll go on Sunday.

I'm back home now and resting... so tired but I have already watched the video and I know who'll be at this year's AFA. :)  So it's not a live stream as I thought, it's a video clip that they scheduled to only be made public at 7pm last night.  Still, it's a pretty cool way to make the announce for an anisong event. :)  You get to hear the performers as you find out who'll be coming.

Unfortunately for me, no Kajiura Yuki / FictionJunction and no Kalafina in this first wave of names. But I'm not really that surprised.  I never expect them to come.  Kajiura Yuki and FictionJunction have never come to Singapore and Kalafina's only been to AFA Singapore once.  So it's not like they are regular features in AFA.  So I will always hope but I don't expect anything.  There is still the next wave of announcements and as usual, I will hope but not expect anything. :P

I'm really not sure if I'll go for anisong this year.  Unless they add more people I really want to watch, The only one I quite like is Flow but even then, I don't consider myself a fan.  I only really like the Railgun songs from fripSide.  I'm curious to see Eir Aoi live and while I'm not a big fan of LiSA's music, I do think she's very entertaining live.

Still.... I may skip anisong this year.  Don't get me wrong, I think this is a pretty good list of artistes but while I listen widely and am accepting of a lot of genres of music, I'm only really a fan of a handful of artistes.  And the biggest reasons why I may skip anisong this year is because I'll be going to Japan next year.  I'm hoping to go twice, so I'll really need to think about putting away some real money if I am to achieve that.

Anyway, I think it isn't a bad list.  So if you are in town and you can afford it and especially if you've never been to an anisong live, I think you should get  ticket and experience it at least one. Meanwhile, I'll talk to my concert going buddies and if everyone wants to go, I may too.... we'll see. :)

For now... I am off to bed... I am exhausted... this has been a v busy week.... it's been another good week at work but I'm really tired and I was taking twice the time to do my work today... that's really not good... I think I really need to sleep... rambling now... .... ... good night. :P

Lupin the Third is set for a 25th Sept opening in Singapore. :)

Kalafina ~ Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works - EP singles release (unofficial info)

While I was looking for information about another artiste for something else I was doing, I came across this piece of information.  CLICK ME.

It seems like there will be four versions of this yet to be officially announced release and it'll come in their usual four flavours.

Limited Edition A (CD+DVD) [SECL-1612~3]
Limited Edition B (CD+BD) [SECL-1614~5]
Regular Edition (CD only) [SECL-1616}
Anime Edition (CD+DVD) [SECL-1617~8]

According to that page, the ending theme for the ufotable version of Fate/Stay Night - Unlimited Blade Works will be titled "believe".  There is also a yet to be titled coupling song listed in the track list.

This is also set for a 19th November release.

None of this has been official announced yet.  So we'll still have to wait for an official announcement from SMEJ, Kalafina's official website and ufotable themselves.

This announce should be soon though because this anime is scheduled to begin airing on 4th October which is less than a month away.

I'm really looking forward to this too!! :)  I'll most likely be getting all versions again. :P

Looks like vol. 3 will come packed with OST vol. 1. This CD will contain tracks that have been written by Kajiura Yuki. :)  I must confess that I haven't been watching SAOII.  It's not really my kind of anime.  But I do have it on the list of "to watch" because Kajiura Yuki writes the score. :P

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works ~ Shirou's character CM online

ufotable made the 3rd character CM available for watching a few hours ago. :)

This time it's Emiya Shirou.  I must confess that he's actually one of my least favourite character in the original Fate/Stay Night but he's an important character so I'll just have to tolerate him. :P

It's still previewing "ideal white" and will probably continue previewing "ideal white" in the next CM.  A tweet from ufotable shows a screen capture of the next CM which will be the Saber version.

And in the bottom right corner, it still says "ideal white" so we won't be getting Kalafina's song just yet.  For now, let's just enjoy what we're been getting.

The Saber ver. will begin screening in Japan on the 6th Sept, Saturday.  We'll probably only get the official streaming versions on the following Monday or Tuesday again.

Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary anime film to screen in Singapore

Old school anime fans rejoice!! :) It looks like Cathay Cineplexes will screen the Saint Seiya movie in Singapore in October this year.  The film is set to open on 9th October and a page for this anime film was set up and made public over the weekend.  Runtime and rating information have not been released yet so it's probably still waiting for a decision from the MDA.

This film was released in Japan over this summer, so not too long ago at all. :)

There are a series of trailers and related video clips available for viewing on the official website.  They don't seem to be region-locked.  YAY!!! :)

Kalafina, angela ~ Animelo Summer Live 2014 ~ Blu-ray release announced

As usual, my main interest in all things anisong still revolves mainly around Kajiura Yuki, her vocal projects (FictionJunction and Kalafina) and angela.  Both Kalafina and angela performed on the second day of the world's largest anime concert event, Anisama.

The official twitter account for Anisama, Animelo Summer Live tweeted that this year's Anisama will once again air on NHK BS premium channel.  The official website did not state any dates yet.  Details will only be released later.  They also tweeted that they intend to release the blu-ray of the event.  The BD is set for a Spring 2015 release.  More details of that release will also be released later.

Lucky for me both Kalafina and angela performed on the same day which means that if I do pick this release up, I will only need to pick up day 2 of the live which is the live on 30th August. :)  What really helps sweeten it for me is that Flow also performed on the same day and I've had good feelings for them since I saw them live at AFA twice previously.

Let's hope that Kalafina's songs will be released on this BD.  SMEJ sometimes can be really controlling when it comes to their artists...so who knows.   If they aren't included in this BD, then I'm unlikely to pick it up at all.

Hikaru wrote in an entry on Kalafina's official blog that they sang the following songs and did one MC.

They also performed in the last two songs at the event RE:BRIDGE～Return to oneself～ and ONENESS, as did angela and all the other artistes at the live.
