Today, we travelled to Sapporo from Asahikawa where we had lunch before heading out to Nakafurano to see the flowers.
It's about an hour away via the JR Furano line towards Furano. We were on the same train as a large group of elementary school kids out on an excursion. They were quite lively but their teachers were all very cheerful and jolly which must have been quite a feat since it was also rather hot and usually tempers run a little shorter when it is so hot.
We got to Nakafurano at 2 plus and it was still very hot as we took a half hour walk to Tomita Farm. It was worth it though. Although we were too late for the large Lavender fields we were still able to see Sun Flowers, some Lavenders and several other types of flowers. Very beautiful!!
We also had a very refreshing melon slushy type drink, melon and milk softserve, lavender softserve and a slice of melon. A lot of food. :p
After our visit to Nakafurano, we returned to Asahikawa and went to an izakaya and ate a ton of food again. Am so full now... I think we'll need to eat less tomorrow. :)
