Eastern europe day 5

Before i move on to day 6, i would like to introduce you to Mr. Dragon. The dragon is the symbol of Krakow and during our city tour we were only able to catch a glimpse of it. Unfortunately, our walking tour did not take us pass the dragon and we only got a peek of it through the trees when we were up on the walls of the castle. So as compensation, here... here is a photo of Mr. Dragon behind glass walls. :-) ok, this kawaii little bugger looks nothing like the black sculpture of the lean and mean beast, but i wanted to tell you the legend of the dragon, so this little green guy is better than nothing. :-) Mukashi mukashi (long long ago), there lived a dragon in the city of krakow. This dragon had a very disagreeable diet for us humans, he liked chompping on one virgin maiden a day. As a result, he wasn't exactly popular among the citizens of the city but the dragon was fierce and powerful and could spew fire which made him kinda hard to kill and so all the citizens of the city could do was tolerate him. One day, this shoemaker got a brainwave and he decided to fill this little lamb with all kinds of spices like pepper, paprika and salt. The dragon awoke from his nightly slumber and was a bit ticked not to find a virgin for breakfast and resolved to have two for the day to make him feel better. He then spied a little lamb and decided to have it as a breakfast snack first. After he gobbled it up, he became incredibly thirsty and drank up all the water from this famous river in the city, sorry i forgot the name of the river. Anyway, he drank and he drank and he drank to try and quench this incredible thirst but his thirst was inquenchable and he drank so much till he burst and died. And that's how the story ends, now why he became the symbol of Krakow, even our polish guide laughs and says she has no idea why. :-)
