Psycho Pass movie to screen in Singapore in June 2015

I'm going to be very brief because I need to scoot off to work very soon.

But just when I wondered whether they were really ever going to screen the Psycho Pass movie in SG, here's a tease from Aniplus HD's FB stating that they intend to screen it in June in SG only.

Kalafina ~ Backstage Pass Vol.6 magazine interview (small bit translated)

I got this magazine in the same shipment that delivered Kalafina's ring your bell CDs. :)  I also got AJ Girls Vol.1 with this order but photos of that have been floating around the internet for a while, so I'm undecided if I'll do a post on it.  What's missing from the set of photos floating around the internet is the one-page interview that accompanies the photoshoot.

I have seen what I think are the photos from the Backstage Pass Vol.6 magazine floating around the internet.  These photos are accompanied by the description of each vocalist's voice and if I remember those lines on those pictures correctly, they should be the first line that is written in the Backstage Pass Vol.6 magazine.

On Saturday evening, I fired up my computer and connected via VPN to listen to a radio programme on NHK radio.  It's titled 歌え!土曜日 Love Hits (Sing!  Saturday Love Hits). After sitting through a couple of songs, we get to Kalafina's section at the end.

Since my listening comprehension is really quite terrible, I decided to attempt to record it so I could try and listen to it again and again if I needed to.  In the end, I still can't comprehend all of it. :P  But some day... some day I WILL!!!  :P

Anyway, in this radio interview, Keiko said something that I really, really liked.

She said that Kalafina's harmony is like synchronised swimming.

Kajiura Yuki & Tomoharu Takahashi ~ tweets

I was just going through Twitter and saw this.  I know, maybe two weeks ago, Kajiura Yuki tweeted about writing a new song but she revealed no other details.

Kajiura Yuki tweeted a photo of some of the Front Band Members in the recording suite a little while ago.  This tweet was accompanied by a short simple text that merely said, "Today band."  That was followed later with a message that said that the recording has been finished and she thanked everyone for their hard work

Tomoharu "Jr" Takahashi, who plays bass, tweeted two lines.  One on his own account and one in reply to Kajiura Yuki's tweet.  He wrote in reply to Kajiura Yuki's tweet that it was a good song and also tweeted on his own account that a good song has been recorded.

I finally got the LP version of Kalafina's ring your bell single in the mail on Monday.  This completes my collection of all the versions for this release. :P  Unfortunately, I don't have a way of playing this LP because I don't own a turntable. :(  So fingers crossed that this sells so well that Sony will grant ufotable's founder Kondo Hikaru's wish that they will release a LP containing all of Kalafina's Kara no Kyoukai songs.  I will totally buy it in a heartbeat, that's for sure.  Then maybe if they keep releasing LPs I'll have a reason to actually buy a turntable. :D

I'll keep this post relatively short too because there isn't really that much to say and also because I've been putting in quite a bit of OT at the office recently and I think I'm falling ill again, so I should sleep soon if I can.

As you can tell from the time stamp on this post, it's really pretty late.  So much as I would love to do the unboxing tonight, I think I should sleep.  It was a long day at work today and I think tomorrow may be equally long.  Hence, here you go, just a photo of my Kalafina ring your bell vinyl record version. :)

I've already shot photos of this release and I'll post them up tomorrow, if I don't return home too late. I'll also pen some thoughts about Amazon Japan's failed packaging. :(  And how I wish I was able to order this from CDJapan. ;(

SMEJ has released a small place holder image for this release.  I don't think this is the cover because when SMEJ and Kalafina officially announced this released early this morning on their respective websites etc, they didn't include this image in their release.

However, all the online stores are using this image as a place holder it seems because all of them are using the exact same image.

Hopefully this doesn't end up being the jacket cover art for the BD and DVD. I hope they'll do a proper photo shoot for this release.  But who knows. :)

That's it... told you it'll be a small update. :P

Kalafina ~ ring your bell - unboxing

Okay, its seems that Starhub is now working and I seem to be getting normal service again. :) Yay!!  For a while there I thought I may need to abandon my plan to finish the ring your bell unboxings tonight because I couldn't go online for about an hour. :(

I'll make this quick because I would like to go to bed soon.  It was a very long day today at work and I suspect the entire week will most likely be the same.  Hence, I want to zip through this. Photos heavy. :)

I bought all versions as usual.  However, currently, I am still missing the vinyl record version because that one is being sent from Amazon Japan.  I couldn't get it via CDJapan because, by the time I went to make my order, it was all sold out.  It sold out VERY fast on most major online retailers. :(  Luckily, I managed to get 3 copies from two online retailers at cost price. :)  The one from Amazon should come by Friday or Saturday.  Depending on when it arrives, I will either do it over the weekend or next Monday night. :)

Just taking a small break from work because it looks like I might have to put in OT again tonight. :(  Hopefully not too much because I wanna do the Kalafina ring your bell CD unboxing tonight.

All the versions that I have ordered from CDJapan have arrived.  As usual, I ordered all versions.  I was not able to order the vinyl version from CDJapan, that's coming from Amazon in a couple of days.  Hopefully that'll get here by Friday so I'll do that separately.

Here's just a little teaser photo of Keiko's solo photo in the Regular Edition of this single. :)  Keiko's my favourite, so I'm totally showing my bias here. :P  The rest will follow tonight. :)  Might be quite late tonight but I'm determined to do them tonight. :)

They've also released more info on the BD / DVD releases for the Budokan lives. But I won't have time to do them now. Maybe later tonight. :)

So, I think we can safely say that this is definitely happening. :)

I was totally going to go to bed after I got home but on the way home I was reading twitter and this came up on several people's tweets and I just have to write about it. :) A fellow Kalafina fan checked out the link to the Sony shop and also confirmed that this is pretty much legit even though an official announce hasn't been made by either SMEJ or Kalafina yet.  The listings have appeared on Sony's online webstore which pretty much makes this news legit. :) The official announce will probably be released in the later part of the morning today and we're likely to see it on all official news site too.

The Sony webstore is saying that this will be released on the 5th July.  So time to put some money aside to pick these up. :)  Maybe we'll see some nice tokutens too. :)

The BDs will weigh in at 6800 yen per disc.  And the DVDs will cost 5800 yen per disc.

Table top photo studio test shot

Aside from being quite busy at work, I have been having some fun trying to build my own tabletop studio for as cheap as I can possibly make it.

This is one of the test shots. :) It is a photo of the small daruma figure that Asahi san had kindly given me when I visited his factory in Gunma.

I think me trying to get that post done before the Kalafina ring your bell CDs arrive is going to be impossible. :( According to FedEx, I will most likely get the package containing the CDs and the magazines by tomorrow afternoon.

Meanwhile, I am still on the train on my way home from work as I write this post to kill some time and take my mind off how cold it is on this train. By the time I get home, I think I will probably just crash out. Pretty tired today.

Actually, I also shot the Ieiri Leo CD unboxing photos using the new set up and it works pretty well. But I didn't have time to write that post.

Hopefully, I will have time to do the Kalafina unboxing post tomorrow night if the package arrives as scheduled. Looking forward to getting the singles and a couple of magazines.

Now I think I will play some Poke Toru on the 3DS....or maybe doze a little on the train if I get a seat on my connecting train.

Rie Fu ~ Growing Singapore: Construction Site Paintings & Acoustic Live

Two days ago, I finally managed to watch Rie Fu live in Singapore. :)  The Japanese singer songwriter moved to Singapore about a year ago and is currently based here for now.  During this time, I knew that she sang and held a workshop at Hood Bar & Cafe and also at J-Obsessions at Cathay but both events were on a Sunday afternoon which made it hard for me to attend because it clashed with my classes.  This time, this event was held on a Saturday afternoon so I grabbed at the chance to go.

Admittedly, outside of Rie Fu's anime related music, I didn't really know that much about her music at all.  And I didn't even know she painted till the Japan Creative Centre put up an art exhibition showcasing her paintings which were very cool.

The event was held at the Japan Creative Centre on Nasim Road and Rie Fu performed on the opening and closing day of her art exhibition.  The cool thing about it is that it's a free live, you just had to write in to apply for a "ticket" to get in.  I applied for the closing day because it was on a Saturday and hence, made it much easy for me to attend.

Ah... apparently Flying Dog made two announces today, I only just realised it.  They didn't just release the cover art for the jacket for Kajiura Yuki's soon to be released FictionJunction 2010-2013 The BEST of Yuki Kajiura LIVE 2, they also updated the track-list.

Previously, they only released the titles of the songs that would be included in this 3 CD set but now they've also added information about which lives these tracks are from.

This is the updated track list.  For those of us who couldn't go to KajiFes and were hugely disappointed at the lack of a BD release... well... we've got Disc 3 where all 18 tracks are from KajiFes. :)

I've been really, really busy lately. Some of it has been work related, some of it is related to a personal project I needed to get done. Just stealing a little time to post this up because Lisani! has released the content page detailing what will be featured in Lisani! Take a look at the number of pages Kajiura Yuki gets!! Pages 81-95 :)  Okay, I know some of those pages will go to the cross-talk section with Mito from Clammbon but what I didn't know and didn't expect was that Vol.21 also includes a solo interview with Kajiura sensei.  :)  It seems like the solo interview with Kajiura sensei will talk about the past 11 lives (vol.12 won't have happened yet at time of print) and the soon to be released FictionJunction 2010-2013 The BEST of Yuki Kajiura LIVE 2 album.

Koda Kumi ~ live in Singapore 2015 announce

I've spent the last two days moping and avoiding social media as much as possible because I'm still trying my darnest to pretend that Kalafina isn't at AFA Thailand. ;'(  If only my pockets ran deeper, I would go to Thailand.... sigh. :(

But this popped up and so I thought I should share it.  Apparently, Koda Kumi is coming to Singapore for her first live.  That's pretty good news for Japanese music lovers.  We're getting some heavy hitters these days, not just anisong artistes but also J-music artists.

It's at Scape again, where AAA had their live.  The AAA live was really enjoyable. I had a lot of fun. I'm not sure if I'll go, it'll depend on my friends.  Of course, I generally do support Japanese lives in SG so I still may go.  We'll see.  I haven't quite decided. :)

Interestingly, LiSA also has a live that day but at Sentosa but my concert buddies and I already decided we'll not be going to that live. It's rare to have two Japanese music events clash in Singapore though. So that's a little surprising.  Koda Kumi live, we'll be discussing this before we decide.  :)
