Real quick... FictionJunction has announced a new album release. If I read this correctly, it is to commemorate their 5 year anniversary next year. :)  YAY!!

Also, there will be a FictionJunction: YUUKA live and Yuki Kajiura Vol.11 Live (which would be a tour of 7 cities, I think)

Kalafina Calendar 2014 - sample page released

Another quick post before I head to bed. :)

FictionJunction Club released a pdf file this afternoon which included a picture of a sample page for the soon to be released Kalafina calendar 2014. :)  Those who purchase it from the Spacecraft online shop will get postcards.

I've pre-ordered it and should receive it in November in the mail.  I chose registered SAL so it may take a while.  I'll probably shoot pictures of it once I get it. :)

Kalafina LIVE TOUR 2013 "Consolation" Special Final Blu-ray / DVD - Listed

Kalafina's LIVE TOUR 2013 "Consolation" Special Final  Blu-ray / DVD has been listed on CDJapan.

No cover art yet but here's somethings I didn't know.  According to the description on CDJapan's page, this was the biggest venue that Kalafina has performed at.  We're talking about the one-man shows of course because they have appeared at bigger venues but as part of a larger anisong event etc.  Also,16 cameras were used to cover this performance. Wow... that's quite a lot of cameras!!

It was previously announced that a documentary of the trio's appearance at this year's Anime Central in Chicago will also be included.

Interestingly, this documentary is suppose to be included in both the DVD and the BD releases but they only list one disc for the DVD.  Hmmmm... either this documentary isn't very long or we're talking about more compression on the DVD release.  Well, it's not that important for me because I will get the BD release. :)

Kalafina LIVE PHOTO BOOK -LIVE TOUR 2013 Consolation - listed on CDJapan

Also, I just noticed that CDJapan is offering two special request items.  They are essentially the same item but sourced from two different places.

This is the "Kalafina LIVE PHOTO BOOK -LIVE TOUR 2013 Consolation" and I actually already bought it except that it's sitting in my friend's home in Japan waiting for me to pick up.  So, I'm sorry, but I can't do an unboxing to let you know if this item is worth picking up.

I ordered mine directly from the Space Craft online store.  I didn't know that Animate online was also offering it.  But the two online stores are apparently offering different types of postcards with this photo-book.

The postcard from the Spacecraft store looks like this... it's tiny but I think it's Hikaru on the left, Keiko in the middle and Wakana on the right but I could be wrong. :)

Animate's website doesn't have a picture of the postcard that comes with the item.  So I really don't know what it looks like.

This item doesn't come cheap but given that it doesn't ship outside of Japan at all, you'll have to use a proxy buyer anyway, unless you have friends in Japan who'll help you with it, this is one of the few ways you can get it.  So if you want it, it might be an okay price??? The original item cost 2800yen and Spacecraft charges 700yen for shipping.

Interestingly, they are charging 5200 yen for the 'animate bonus postcard' version and only 3500yen for the 'space craft bonus postcard' version... I'm not sure if they made a mistake with the 'space craft' version... but if they didn't then that's the version you should go for. :)

Kalafina ~ Kimi no Gin no Niwa - tracklist & Precious Memory card images

About the only thing I have time for these days is to do quick updates about Kajiura Yuki, FictionJunction and Kalafina. :)  Good thing I enjoy doing them. :)

Was about to go to bed again actually... :)

Anyway, let's cut to the chase.  Sony Music and Kalafina's official website just released more information on the upcoming release of  "Kimi no Gin no Niwa" which is one of the theme songs for the 3rd Mahou Shoujo Madoka movie.

Kalafina will also be singing another song called "misterioso" which will be an insert song for the new movie.

And there will be a third new song in this singles release call 追憶 (tsuioku) which translates into recollection or reminiscence.  There is no indication that this song is will be used in the anime at all.

The tracklist is as follows:

No cover art yet but they also released two images of two Precious Memory cards which will be packed with the Anime version of this release.  I'm not sure since my Japanese is still not that strong but I don't think they were very clear about whether both cards will be packed with the Anime Edition or whether you'll only get one of the cards and which one you get is by luck.  I hope both will be packed into the Anime Edition because I would like to get both cards. :)

There was also a two more announcements regarding items one can win in a lottery with a coupon that's in included in the cds and promotional lives etc which I won't really go into since most of us who won't be able to win these items or attend these events anyway. :(



Anyway if you can afford it, please buy these singles as a show of support not just for Kalafina but also for Kajiura Yuki and the music industry too.

New Madoka game for Vita, LE w/OST CD (Kajiura Yuki?)

I don't remember having a busier year at work.  It's been a little bit mad. :(  Even now, I still have work on my mind and after I write this short post, I will be switching to my work station to try and figure out if there is a way to solve a specific prep problem faster.  So here goes, as short and as fast as possible for long-winded me. :)

I was reading something on animenewsnetwork.com when I came across a post regarding the December release of the new Mahou Shoujo Madoka Vita game.  Aside from the fact that it is related to my 2nd fav mahou shoujo anime of all time, the other thing that interested me was that the game will be using Kajiura Yuki's music from the anime.  While there is no mention if there will be any new music written, the entry does say that the Limited Edition release of this vita game also comes with an OST CD.  I really don't know if that means that a Kajiura Yuki OST CD will be packaged with this release or it means some other music will be on this CD but if it is indeed Kajiura Yuki's music, I would be very happy.  I do intend to purchase this game at some point.  So the LE edition is very much on the cards if the OST CD includes her music.

Anyway... it's mostly hopeful speculation on my part.  :) Now... I am off to do some testing.

Kajiura Yuki to score Hanako to An

Also, it was announced this afternoon that it has been decided that Kajira Yuki will write the soundtrack for the new NHK asadora (morning drama) Hanako to An.  (source: http://www.spacecraft.co.jp/fjc/info.html) Yay!! :)  I think it's good that Kajiura Yuki is getting different kinds of material to score.  It'll give her more opportunities to explore and experiment.  Also as asadora dorams are quite widely watched in Japan, this will also bring more exposure for her and as a fan, I am happy for her. :)

The series stars Yoshitaka Yuriko.  Another reason for me to be happy since I rather like Yoshitaka Yuriko.  She will play Muraoka Hanako who was the translator of several novels.  One of the novels was Anne of Green Gables, hence the title of this dorama which translates into English as "Hanako and Anne".

Those of us who watch dorama regularly will recognise many of those in the support cast.  It's a pretty strong support cast which even has Nakama Yukie listed as one of the names.  I'm presuming, given that Nakama Yukie is a pretty big name, she's probably in this dorama as a special guest star.

Hopefully we'll get to watch this series.  Asadora dramas aren't always that easy to find online but since this has Yoshitaka Yuriko in it, we may get lucky and get to watch and listen to this dorama. :)  I think we should be able to buy the soundtrack on CD too at some point. :)

Kajiura Yuki's Facebook Account :)

I was going to sleep when I decided that there are two things about Kajiura Yuki that are worth getting out of bed to write about. :)

First up, it looks like Kajiura Yuki does have a personal facebook account.  I don't know how many people knew she had a FB account... I certainly didn't. :)  So for those of us who don't know that she has her own account...

A short while ago, she twitted that her Facebook account uses the same icon that she uses on Twitter.  Basically, all other "Kajiura Yuki" accounts that don't use this same icon are not the official Kajiura Yuki account.  So go to FB and look for Kajiura Yuki and look for the account with the same icon as her Twitter account and you can follow her if you like.  it seems like she joined FB in 2011 but rarely used it till recently.

It's all in Japanese and it looks like the content is pretty similar to what she has on twitter and her blog.  I haven't been keeping up very well.  My Japanese isn't strong enough and I'm really too busy and tired to try and work my way thru' the wall of text. :(   Still, there are photos and for avid users of FB, like me, it's nice to be able to get notifications thru' FB. :)

The postcards may differ from store to store... I'm not sure... and currently I think both RE and LE gets the same postcard.  They weren't very specific in the announce.

Kalafina 2014 Calendar ~ first picture up
