Type Moon Fes. BD ~ short comments

I watched a bit of the Type-Moon Fes. BD before rushing to work. Am later than I intended to be because I didn't want to wait till tonight to watch the BD. :P

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Kajiura Yuki was not just accompanied by the Front Band members but also by FictionJunction. For some strange reason, it never occured to me that they would. I guess I only saw her name and I assumed that it would be entirely instrumental.



This is of course a pleasant surprise for those of us who like FictionJunction too. I am one of them. :)

Of course for those among us who happen to like Keiko and/or Wakana best out of the Kajiura Yuki family of performers, there is more of them for us to enjoy. So yes...there is that added bonus for me. :)



I did not have time to watch all of it and had to skip around a bit. But I did watch Kajiura Yuki's opening performance on Day 1.... awesome!! And I did watch Kalafina's Oblivious, Kimi ga Hikari ni Kaette Yuku, to the beginning, Snow Falling and Sprinter.

My word, they all sound soooooo good at this live and harmonized beautifully. And I must say I was also surprised at how well Keiko sang Maya's lines in the beginning section of the live version of Sprinter. While I love this song and love Keiko to bits as a singer, even I have admitted that she has had a little trouble with some of Maya's lines in some of the past live performances of Sprinter. This time though, she sang them with a great deal of confidence and control and I was like WOW!!!! Good job Keiko!!
I can't wait I have time to sit down and absorb it all. So far... the Kalafina 5th Anniv Live Selection CDs and the live clips of Kajiura Yuki's, FictionJunction's & Kalafina's performances at the Type-Moon Fes. has made me a very happy camper and energized for my 13th straight day at work. The music is simply AWESOME!!

Thank you for the music Kajiura Yuki!! Thank you for the great performances FictionJunction, Kalafina and Front Band Members... time to work!! :)

Busy!!!!

Arrgghhhh.... no time to do the unboxing... haven't even watched the blu-ray yet.

After taking the unboxing photos, I got so tired that i crashed out on the sofa.

Have to go to work this weekend too...this will have to wait. :(

Kalafina History 5th photobook available at CDJapan

Awesome!!! The Kalafina History 5th photobook is finally available on CDJapan.  It looks like it'll just be the photobook, no postcards etc since the book has already been released and this is no longer a pre-order.

Wooohoo... CDJapan is on the ball on this.  Pre-orders are up already, just one day after the official announce of the upcoming release of this album.

Kalafina 4th Album ~ Consolation (just announced!!) :)

OH MY GOD!!!!  Kalafina has just announced that they will be releasing their 4th original album titled Consolation in March this year.  Things just keep getting better and better for us Kajiura Yuki and Kalafina fans!!! :)

The album is scheduled for a 20th Mar release and a whole slew of concerts as well as an appearance at the Chicago Anime Centre in May.

This is awesome news!!

So far the confirmed tracks on the CD are "to the beginning", "moonfesta" and "hikari furu".  There will be 2 Limited edition versions, one will come with the DVD and the other with the BD.  So we're probably looking at the usual 3 version release.  One RE, one LE+DVD and one LE+BD.

The DVD / BD will contain video footage of the trio's experience at AnimagiC in Germany last year as well as a video clip (probably the PV) of the new Historia documentary's end theme, "Land of Dreams" (
夢の大地).  In addition to that, the LE will also come with a deluxe photo book.

 There will also be a Special 1 day Live to celebrate the release of this album.  It'll be the same as the "After Eden" special live and this live will take place at the Tokyo Dome City Hall.  I really liked this location.  This live will be on the 6th of April.

After the special, the trio will also go on a Japan wide tour which will include concert hall versions and live hall versions.

Kalafina ~ 5th Anniversary Live Selection 2009-2012 unboxing

I returned home really late today so will have to make this picture heavy and light on words.

This is the unboxing of the Limited Edition of this release from Kalafina.  The 5th Anniversary Live Selection release comes in two flavours and I, as usual, got the LE.

The box has gold trimmings which are embossed on the on the hard cardboard and the paper itself has a slight texture.

The insert for the DVD & Blu-ray jewel case is rather thin, so I just went ahead and shot photos of every page.

The insert booklet for the 2 CD jewel case is quite thick.  If I counted correctly, it's about 34 pages long.  It includes photos, set-lists for the lives, lyrics and a message from each of the Kalafina vocalists, as well as Kajiura Yuki, their music producer and the composer of all their songs.

I've yet to listen to the cds, nor have I had the time to watch the dvd or blu-ray.... I must go to bed now.  The uploading of the photos took forever, blogger and picassa were being fussy.

Hope you enjoyed the unboxing and please support Kalafina and Kajiura Yuki by buying their cds etc if you can afford it...

Am at work now... hopefully I have read this correctly... but it seems like Kalafina's Live on the 23rd Jan will air on WOWOW on the 13th Mar... hopefully someone will tape this and share it with overseas fans who have no hope of going to the Live....or better yet....sell this on blu-ray later this year. :)

If I read this correctly, it seems like Kalafina Museum will make a return in January. This is one of the events being organized in celebration of Kalafina's 5th Anniversary.

Sigh...wish I could be in Japan...

Kajiura Yuki tweeted earlier tonight that the new ep of the NHK docu with Kalafina's latest song serving as the new EP aired tonight.

Ahhhhhh....when will I be able to listen to that song... if I was freer i would try and see if I can get NHK and record it...but...

So busy at work lately...am really happy to get a prep shot...so I can't complain. :)

Apparently, there is a song request web form on Kajiura Yuki's website where one can request for songs that you would like performed at the vol10 live.

Wow....cool....I had no idea... but then, I have been way too busy and tired to follow even Kajiura Yuki's tweets carefully. :(

In another tweet after this one, Kajiura Yuki mentioned that someone requested for 50 different songs. Wah!!! :)

Maybe i will go investigate later...we'll see...for now i just want to rest a bit...i was just released from a show with some very tough roto and now am working on a training prep shot. I am really excited about the training prep shot since it will be doing stuff that I have never done before...I really want to do well and make it good so am going to try and sleep more than usual so that I am well rested every day.

I also need to study for a Japanese test this Sunday so that's why I did not intend to get back into blogging too much till earliest next week.

So.... for now... oyasumi. :) Wish me luck and that my brain can absorb all this learning. :)

Finally, have time to catch up on my Kajiura Yuki tweets and OMG!!!! While I was expecting a possible spring live from Kajiura Yuki.... I didn't think the performing artists list would be sooooo epic!

Kajiura Yuki tweeted in a series of tweets that the artists will not only be FictionJunction and the Front Band but we'll also have FJ Yuuka, Kalafina, Itou Eri, Tomaru Hanae, Akagi Rie, Kasahara Yuri and get this.... Emily Bindinger...

Sigh....I am dead broke....3 trips to Japan and 1 trip to Malaysia to see Kajiura Yuki and Kalafina 4 times last year has meant that this has to be a year of saving for me.... please please please record and sell this on blu-ray!!!

TYPE-MOON Fes. 10th Anniv BD Box ~ pkg artwork

Hahaha... who would have known that my first post for 2013 would not have been a "akemashite omedetou" type post. :)  Too busy and too tired to blog lately but wanted to at least share this first before I try and write more blog posts... possibly from next week onwards. :)

We are 9 days away from the release of the Type-Moon Festival 10th Anniversary Blu-ray box set and I'm quite excited about it.  Today while browsing Amazon Japan's website to see if I had anything I wanted to add to a friend's order, I found that Amazon Japan has put up a new image of the artwork for the packing of this release.  I'm not sure when this was posted up by Amazon Japan but this is the first time I've seen this image so I thought I'll share it with those who have pre-ordered and are waiting for their sets to ship. Looks nice, yah? :)
